The first season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina just came out and we already have new info about Season 2. A Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel vet has joined the cast of the series' next installment. There are several possibilities, so who is it?
Alexis Denisof! The actor starred as Wesley on both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff, Angel. He appeared in the first series during Season 3 and the latter for all of its seasons. So, who is he playing on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Denisof has signed on to star as Adam Masters, the boyfriend of Ms. Wardwell, per TVLine.
In Season 2, Adam will be returning to Greendale following a period of time spent overseas. He was there working with Physicians Without Frontiers. Adam returns to town blissfully unaware that his fiancée is no longer the woman he loves. In his absence, she was taken over by the demoness, Madam Satan.
Should that come to light, it is unlikely to be something the couple can work through. The twist would also seem to put Adam in danger. How long until he starts to figure out that something is amiss with Ms. Wardwell? If he does, it would make sense for Madam Satan to potentially take action that puts him in harm's way.
As for Alexis Denisof, his joining the series will remain totally in keeping with his previous roles. Since Angel wrapped, he appeared on Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon's sci-fi series Dollhouse. He also made his way to NBC's supernatural drama, Grimm. So Denisof joining Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a return to form for the actor.
The casting of Mrs. Wardwell's boyfriend seems to indicate that Madam Satan's role will do anything but diminish in Season 2. How long Alexis Denisof will appear as Adam Masters on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is not clear. The report did not mention how many episodes he has signed on to do. Let's face it, sharing that info could be a significant spoiler regarding Adam's fate.
