Katey Sagal has signed on for her next network television show. The Sons of Anarchy actress will be returning on a soapy nighttime drama for ABC.
Katey Sagal has signed on to recur on the upcoming series Grand Hotel, per Deadline. The dramatic series is being executive produced by Desperate Housewives' Eva Longoria. Sagal's role and the show both sound exciting! Before getting into Sagal's character, it is probably best to understand the backdrop of the role.
The show is based on the Spanish-language series, Gran Hotel, which currently streams on Netflix. ABC's Grand Hotel is set in a Miami Beach hotel. The show centers on the family who owns it, the hotel's staff, and the "explosive secrets" they all conceal within its walls. Katey Sagal will star as Teresa on the drama. She is an investor in the hotel with mysterious aims.
Teresa is said to let nothing stop her in the pursuit of protecting her investment. She will also clash with Demián Bichir's Santiago. Sounds intriguing! For now, Katey Sagal is set to appear in at least three episodes of the series. And, that should be more than enough episodes for a decent amount of story unfold.
Whether there will be room left open for that run to possibly be extended is not entirely clear. Three episodes could theoretically turn into more if the story calls for it, the series is interested in keeping her around, and if Katey Sagal's schedule allows. So, stay tuned.
This role sounds well-suited to Katey Sagal, whose take-charge characters are always fun. Let's face it, drama and hotels go together really well. The setting has potential for lots of drama, and should help fuel the series for some time to come. Whatever Teresa's mysterious intentions are, they should be interesting to explore.
