DC Universe's Doom Patrol Reveals First Look At Cyborg And Timothy Dalton's Chief In New Video
DC Universe has unveiled fans' first look at its upcoming series, Doom Patrol. In the video, you can see Cyborg and catch a glimpse of Timothy Dalton's Chief. Check them out in the promo below:
You may be wondering where Timothy Dalton's Chief made an appearance. At the 24-second mark, you can see him in the background of the Doom Patrol's holiday card. He can be spotted on the far right with a gentle smile peeking out from under his beard. The team can be seen in front of him as Cyborg smiles, and Elasti-Woman gives it her best shot.
While the Doom Patrol clip is brief, it does give fans a sweet taste of what is to come. The cinematography, which may or may not be the same used on the series, is reminiscent of 2009's Watchman film -- specifically, the scenes the movie presented its flashback sequences in.
In 36 seconds, DC Universe managed to impart viewers with something to tide them over until the series' premiere. Doom Patrol will pick up right after the events of the first season of Titans.
According to DC Universe, the show is a "re-imagining" of the superhero group, which is composed of Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman, and Crazy Jane. They make their verbal and visual debuts in the first look teaser. They all received superhuman powers following tragic accidents; the group is called into action by Cyborg, who approaches them with a mission that will change their lives forever.
Timothy Dalton will star as Dr. Niles Caulder a.k.a. The Chief. He is the one who helped Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Woman, and Crazy Jane find purpose in the world post-trauma -- bringing the group together to investigate bizarre phenomena and guard the planet from their findings.
From this brief glimpse, the cast already appears to have strong chemistry. That is saying something, because this is not a long teaser by any stretch of the imagination. Diane Guerrero's Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade's Cyborg, and April Bowlby's Elasti-Woman all make the most out of the short clip, portraying their roles brilliantly.

If some other voices sounded familiar but hard to place, let me help you out. Recent Will & Grace guest star Matt Bomer is the one playing Negative Man on Doom Patrol. Robotman is played by the star of the best Mummy movie, a.k.a. 1999's The Mummy's Brendan Fraser.
Not heard from at all and only seen is Timothy Dalton's The Chief. Hearing and seeing him in action will be something to look forward to as Doom Patrol nears its release date. For now, this teaser featuring Cyborg and the rest of the group should get fans more than a little pumped for the premiere!
Doom Patrol premieres on DC Universe, the day after Valentine's Day on February 15, 2019. There will be love and superheroes in the air. Doom Patrol is among an impressive slate of new programming set to arrive in the new year.
