The Greatest Super Bowl Commercial Of All Time Has Been Chosen, And It's A Surprising Choice
CBS ran a special called Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2019, and by the end of the night, the internet had reached a consensus on the greatest Super Bowl commercial of all time. Granted there were only two options to vote between, as CBS prompted users to choose between two specific commercials for the title. The votes were tallied between the two, and when it was all said and done, Budweiser's "Lamb Streaker" came away with the crown.
The commercial, which aired in 2006 during Super Bowl XL, ended up being America's top choice. At least, that's what audiences prefer when given the choice between that and Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2019's other selection, Reebok's Terry Tate, office linebacker ad. The commercial had its fair share of fans voting for it, but apparently not enough to overtake the people with a fierce love of shaved sheep and their sweet yet unnerving dance moves.
There were those who were thrilled to see the Budweiser ad get the title, and of course, those who felt their favorite Super Bowl commercial got robbed. Some took to Twitter to complain that the CBS special only allowed viewers to vote between two options. Of those options, neither were the ones that some would've had in the final spots. Some just weren't happy with the special in general, and aired out their grievances on social media.
Others were kinder in their response, simply stating commercials like the Darth Vader kid or Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. commercial should've gotten the top spot. Obviously Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2019 was never going to please everyone, and if there was a commercial that satisfied every age group across the board, advertisers would run it into the ground. Perhaps those commercials already exist and that's why they're constantly on the air time and time again.
With that said, there were many who thought Super Bowl Greatest Commercials 2019 made the right call in making the best ad a Budweiser ad. Many agreed that the "King of Beers" consistently delivers the best Super Bowl commercials on a yearly basis. Not all agreed the "lamb streaker" was the company's best, and quite a few folks believed there was one commercial that aired during a trying time in America that stood above it.
