LEGO Jurassic World Is Getting Another Miniseries, Legend Of Isla Nublar
The Jurassic Park franchise has been going strong since the very first movie released way back in 1993, and it got a big resurgence with the Jurassic World films. The dinos made their way to the small screen thanks to some LEGO animated specials, with the most recent being LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit from fall 2018. Now, LEGO Jurassic World is getting another miniseries, and it will be set once more on Isla Nublar.
The miniseries will be called LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar, and it will pick off where Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit left off. So, don't count on the characters to react to any of what went down in Jurassic World or Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The action will take place three years before Jurassic World, back in 2012.
In the miniseries, animal behaviorist Owen Grady and Park Operations Assistant Manager Claire Dearing work together to deal with the various issues that come with running something as massive as Jurassic World. Since this is a project with Jurassic in the title, it will of course include runaway dinosaurs, but that's not all. Construction is still ongoing at this point, and tourists are already frequenting the island.
Throw in the impulsive boss on top of the tropical weather that has been causing problems since 1993, and there are plenty of things that can go wrong. Given that this is LEGO Jurassic World, at least we can probably rule out people getting brutally eaten by dinos! LEGO Jurassic World: The Secret Exhibit was certainly lighter than the movies.
That said, there will undoubtedly be some key differences between Legend of Isla Nublar and The Secret Exhibit. Although The Secret Exhibit has been called a miniseries, it was only a two-parter and therefore a very mini miniseries. LEGO Jurassic World: Legend of Isla Nublar will run for 13 episodes.
No details have been released just yet about how long the episodes will be or where they will air. The Secret Exhibit aired twice in full on NBC. It's not clear which dinosaurs other than (presumably) the fan favorites will be involved, but some clues may be found in the new LEGO building sets being released that are based on Legend of Isla Numblar.
The sets are called "Dilophosaurus on the Loose," "Baryonyx Face-Off: The Treasure Hunt," "Triceratops Rampage," and "T. rex vs Dino-Mech Battle." Something tells me that LEGO Owen and Claire won't come to the same sticky end as Dennis Nedry when he ran afoul of a Dilophosaurus on the loose in Jurassic Park.
