WWE Superstar Roman Reigns Announces Return To Raw After Battle With Cancer

It's been a tough few months for WWE's Roman Reigns, as he went from one of the company's top talents to a man who didn't know what his future held. Months after he stood in the squared circle and announced he was entering a fight with leukemia, the "big dog" arrived back on Monday Night Raw to share some news with his fans. Watch Reigns update everyone on his health below, and deliver some big news to the WWE universe.

That's right! The "big dog" is back, and will be returning to Monday Night Raw. Even watching on video it's easy to hear the crowd reacted with deafening cheers and joy that the former WWE champion was back and in remission. It was truly a heartwarming moment for Roman Reigns (real name Joe Anoa'i), who was smiling ear to ear at their reaction. Given the reality he faced only months prior, it's easy to understand why.

The thunderous reaction of the WWE Universe is extra surprising for faithful viewers, many of whom know the fanbase at large was 50/50 at best on Roman Reigns prior to this perilous journey. As the company's branded top guy and not necessarily the crowd favorite, Reigns gained the ire of many when he was given top title opportunities and labeled the underdog despite story lines consistently highlighting him coming out on top of promising competitors.

As crazy as it is to say, it wouldn't have been all that surprising to hear some very vocal boos in this crowd, but luckily no one ruined this amazing moment. It would've been hard to, as Roman Reigns looks like a guy who really did hit a home run when it came to treating cancer. His in-ring return may not be that far off, as evidenced by fellow Superstar Baron Corbin delivering a vague message after the announcement.

This is actually the second time Roman Reigns has put his leukemia into remission, as he revealed he struggled with the form of cancer since his diagnosis in 2007. Reigns was attempting a professional football career at that stage, but ultimately left it for a developmental contract in the WWE. Years later Reigns found himself at the top of the company, and headlining pay per view events on a consistent basis.

Time will tell whether Roman Reigns will be right back on top upon his return or if he will slowly climb the ladder as the WWE marches ever closer to Wrestlemania. CinemaBlend will be around keeping tabs on all major television and entertainment news in the meantime, and keep readers informed on the hottest shows coming to television.
