The 'Amazing' Modern Family Storyline Sarah Hyland Wants For Haley
Modern Family is winding down Season 10, and then there's only one season left. Sarah Hyland recently shared her vision for what she'd like to see happen with her character Haley Dunphy, who is currently pregnant with twins. Hyland was asked to compare Haley's parenting style to another character on the show. She answered Claire, and that's when she shared her pitch for Haley:
It would be kind of fitting -- Claire was a bit wild in her youth herself, and now she's a classic competitive type A who needs everything to be just-so. But it would also be kind of alarming to see Haley as a mini Claire, and probably freak out Phil and Dylan most of all.
Sarah Hyland shared her hopes for Haley with Good Morning America as part of an interview praising the Modern Family cast for helping her with her health struggles. She was born with kidney dysplasia, and has already had 16 surgeries so far, including two kidney transplants.
It's good to hear Sarah Hyland has the support of her cast and crew. But it's going to be tough for them -- and for the fans -- to say goodbye to this show next year. This year we have shows like Game of Thrones, The Big Bang Theory, and Veep coming to an end. Next year it will be Modern Family, Arrow, and Criminal Minds, among others.
In the meantime, it looks like an example of the Claire/Haley dynamic is coming in Modern Family's March 13 Episode 17, called "The Wild." Here's the synopsis from ABC:
ABC's photos to tease the episode show Haley getting frustrated as mom Claire breaks out a huge set of instructions for how to put a crib together. Here's one photo telling that story:
I can picture Haley doing that with her own kids, not too many years from now. Modern Family Season 10 was off last Wednesday, but it's back this Wednesday, March 13 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC, as one of the many shows now airing in midseason 2019.
