Check Out Chris Pratt Joining Garth Brooks On Stage For TV Awards Performance
What a great 24 hours Chris Pratt must be having. Thursday night, he got to jump on stage at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards to sing along with Artist of the Decade winner Garth Brooks. And Friday afternoon it was just announced that James Gunn will be returning to direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 after all. That's something Pratt and the GotG cast had pushed for, so he must be thrilled that the news is now out in the open.
First, check out Chris Pratt showing off his not-so-hot pipes with Garth Brooks for "Friends in Low Places," in this clip from the March 14 iHeartRadio Music Awards broadcast on Fox:
Yes, they are both rich and famous now, but they still have friends in low places! Maybe literally low as in the audience by their feet.
Anyway, it was the experience of a lifetime for Chris Pratt, who posted on Instagram that he just about died and went to heaven:
Chris Pratt also showed off some sweet video from backstage:
Clearly the country boy had a great time at the awards show, which did pretty well in the ratings for Fox, per TheWrap. Chris Pratt has also been keeping busy planning his wedding to Katherine Schwarzenegger, and he's fresh off The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part. Pratt is also expected to continue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Peter Quill/Star-Lord.
Star-Lord was one of the unlucky 50% dust-busted by Thanos at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. But the Avengers: Endgame survivors -- like Rocket Raccoon -- are working on some kind of plan to fix Thanos' Decimation. Chris Pratt hasn't been featured in the Endgame trailers, since that wouldn't quite make sense, but don't be shocked if you see Star-Lord again in some fashion (even though many fans blame Peter Quill for what happened to begin with).

And now we know Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 isn't just happening, it's happening with the newly re-hired writer/director James Gunn. Since the decision was reportedly made months ago, it's possible Chris Pratt and the cast have known that good news for a long time. But it was just confirmed by Gunn himself today, so it's exciting for the whole MCU family to be able to welcome him back and move forward. Chris Pratt is also busy getting fans ready for Jurassic World 3, which is scheduled to open in 2021.
Chris Pratt has blockbuster after blockbuster ahead of him. Still, it's nice to see that even superhero stars get starstruck by their idols sometimes. It's also nice that Pratt has such a cushy day job, 'cause there might not be enough Auto-Tune in the world for him to make it as a singer.
