If you want an update on the relationship status of your favorite Pretty Little Liars couple, The Perfectionists is where to get it. Towards the end of the second episode, the spinoff gave fans a massive update on one Pretty Little Liars couple. That couple being Spencer and Toby, a.k.a. “Spoby.”
Mona was on the phone talking to BFF Hanna when viewers got the news. Spencer and Toby got married. Yes! The couple was in a happy place towards the end of Pretty Little Liars. So, this is a significant development of the positive variety for shippers. All thanks to The Perfectionists!
How was the wedding? Spencer and Toby opted to elope according to what Hanna told Mona. All of which fits with their coupledom. They have always been low key. Keeping it so secret is a bit surprising, though. Hey, whatever makes them happy! They overcame a lot of drama to get back together and married.
This news should give Mona and Alison something positive to talk about in next week's episode, while in the midst of all the mayhem. Along with being friends, Alison and Spencer share a biological brother, and they themselves are cousins. Plus, Emily is best friends with Toby. Perhaps Emily and Alison will talk about it off-screen. As for the bearer of the good news, Hanna is doing well.
Yes, viewers got an update on Hanna! Caleb and the baby are okay. Yay! Now, all we need is Hanna and Caleb to drop by with the baby for more Pretty Little Liars-related goodness. If anyone can help Mona, it is her bestie. For now, Mona will have to team up with Alison. So far, so good on that front.
At least one couple is doing well. The Perfectionists has seen Pretty Little Liars couples endure different outcomes. Alison and Emily’s post-series finale ending has been the most surprising. The one-time solid couple, engaged when the show ended, are currently on the outs. Or at least, they seem to be. Alison has yet to explain a deeply insightful reason for what led to their separate lives.
Likewise, Mona is apparently single. This despite her seeming to find romance with a guy in Paris. A lot has changed since that ending. For instance, Mona revealed a crucial bit of info in The Perfectionists’ series premiere. She lost track of Spencer’s evil twin. Could Alex Drake pop up again? Or worse yet, is she the one who married Toby and not Spencer?
Let’s not go there. That would be depressing and unsatisfactory. For now, fans can savor the knowledge of knowing that Spencer and Toby have gotten married. Meaning all but one ship has survived the aftermath of Pretty Little Liars’ series ender, so far.
All that is left is to get an update on Ezra and Aria unless I missed it. If not, the last viewers knew the couple was off on their honeymoon with plans to return and start the adoption process. The only way to learn the status of their relationship for sure is to stay tuned to The Perfectionists.
