Will Shadowhunters' Magnus And Alec Get A Happy Ending In The Series Finale?
Warning! The following contains spoilers for Shadowhunters. Read at your own risk!
There likely wasn't a dry eye amongst Malec fans during "City of Glass," as the soon-to-end Shadowhunters took a big step with the couple in the latest episode. The two met back up after some time apart, and this time, things are looking up for the couple. Does this mean Magnus and Alec will get a happy ending in the finale?
Magnus was heartbroken from his last encounter with Alec, and his father Asmodeus did what he could to attempt to cheer him up. Unfortunately, he's the cause behind all that happened, which Magnus found out after a brief conversation with Alec's mother. Magnus sends Asmodeus through a portal unconscious, and sets off to find Alec to ask a very important question.
Magnus arrived just in time to save Alec and Izzy from some demons, and decided then was as good a time as any to pop the question. Alec gives the kind of witty response one only can give after staring down hell's minions, and the two are set to wed.
Does that mean Magnus and Alec will actually tie the knot though? Shadowhunters fans be warned (although they're kind of conditioned to disappointment as of late), Harry Shum Jr. and Matthew Daddario weren't too reassuring when they talked to Cosmopolitan about the odds of their characters getting a happy ending.
That's not too reassuring, and frankly, a bit straightforward on each actor's behalf. It sounds like both men are hinting things might turn tragic for Magnus and Alec before they're officially married, which is not something a lot of people want to hear on the heels of such a sweet scene.
Thankfully, Harry Shum Jr. and Matthew Daddario had a bit more to say after that alarming Shadowhunters tease. The follow-up comment on Malec's relationship is a bit better than the previous, although one wouldn't say it's reassuring.

For all the bittersweet news the duo delivered, Matthew Daddario promised that there will be a "little treat" for Shadowhunters loyal fans who love the couple. He added this is something these fans want to see, so at least this series is still trying to serve the fans rather than devastate them completely by ruining a beloved couple.
Shadowhunters' series finale airs Monday, May 6 beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET on Freeform. Tune in for the two-and-a-half-hour sendoff, and stick with CinemaBlend for all the latest television, movie, and pop culture news.
