Big Bang Theory Characters Will Make Surprise Appearances In Young Sheldon's Season 2 Finale
This is big. Young Sheldon's Season 2 finale airs the same night as the Big Bang Theory's series finale, and the spinoff will boast a surprising slew of guest appearances from its parent show. Young Sheldon has found a way to have you say “hello” again after you just said goodbye.
The Big Bang Theory's Leonard, Penny, Howard, Raj, Amy, and Bernadette will all appear in Young Sheldon’s Season 2 finale, per TVLine. The unsurprising twist being that they, like Sheldon, will show up as their child selves.
Who will play the younger versions of The Big Bang Theory characters is not known, so stay tuned. There is also no word on how the characters will be introduced into Young Sheldon’s storyline. As fans know, Sheldon did not know all of his Big Bang friends growing up. Thus, making a meet-up between the characters seemingly impossible.
They could have met up earlier in their lives without recalling it. However, that seems like a stretch. Howard, Leonard, Amy, Bernadette, and Raj intersecting with Sheldon due to their academic interests would make sense as adults, but as kids? And how would Penny figure into that scenario?
Sheldon grew up in Galveston, Texas. Penny’s hometown is outside of Omaha, Nebraska. That puts her quite a distance away from Sheldon in the prequel’s universe.
I have a Big Bang theory that Sheldon may not personally interact with his future BFFs. Instead, he may contemplate if he will have a big friend group in the future. Young Sheldon could then pull away to what his future friends are up to in their parallel lives, showing them in their various hometowns.
Fans would probably find it interesting to know what the kid versions of the ensemble were up to, while Sheldon was growing up in Texas. Whether it turns out to be an in-person meeting will be interesting to find out. Either way, it is exciting.
