Amazon Will Plunge San Diego Comic Con Into The Expanse And More Shows This July
San Diego Comic-Con may be losing some of its usual Hall H presenters, but it looks like there will still be plenty to enjoy for attendees who turn out for the biggest geek event of the year. That's in part thanks to Amazon, which is bringing a 60,000 square foot activation to the city that will plunge viewers into The Expanse as well as some of its other shows.
So, what all will the weekend hold for Amazon Prime Video originals like The Boys, Undone, The Man In High Castle, and Carnival Row? Here's a breakdown by each show on what Amazon's plans are, and the things those at the con can be on the lookout for during the convention.
The Expanse
To start, clips of The Expanse and all of Amazon's originals will broadcast on a 40-foot tower with multiple LG screens attached. Then in the experience itself, attendees will see a Rocinante spaceship ready to take adventurers on a United Nations mission to a newly colonized planet featured in The Expanse. There's also a party attendees will have a chance to attend Thursday, July 18, which is going to have select stars appearing.
Then, at the Indigo Ballroom on Saturday, July 20 at 1:00 p.m. PT, the real fun begins. Steven Strait, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Frankie Adams, Cas Anvar, Dominique Tipper, and The Expanse's executive producers Naren Shankar and Ty Franck will all be on hand to provide some context on what's in store for Season 4 ahead of its premiere set to arrive on Amazon Prime Video later this year.
The Boys
On the fan experience side of things, Amazon will have a recreation of the Audio Video shop Hughie works at where folks will have a chance to cover up the crime scene of a superhero kidnapping. On Friday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m. PT, those lucky enough to get into the official party for the show will be treated to a 2-episode sneak preview of The Boys before its official premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
More info on The Boys is sure to come before that, as the panel is set for Ballroom 20 that Friday beginning at 3:30 p.m. PT. Executive producers Seth Rogen and Eric Kripke will be there, as will stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, and Elisabeth Shue to talk about this uber-violent series. Those missing out needn't worry, as The Boys premieres not long after on Friday, July 26.
Carnival Row
The Carnival Row universe will be on display in the fan experience, and those who come out will get a chance to see what it's like when humans and exotic creatures coexist. There's also a tease of a special performance in "The Forbidden Lounge," which sounds just as exciting as the "Come As You Are" party set to happen Saturday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. PT.

Ballroom 20 is the place to be Friday, July 19 at 4:45 p.m. PT, especially for those hoping to get a sneak peek at Carnival Row. Additionally, series stars Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne, David Gyasi, Tamzin Merchant and executive producers Travis Beacham and Marc Guggenheim will be on hand to discuss the show and probably answer a few lingering questions ahead of its premiere later this year.
Undone
Undone is not a part of the special fan experience, but that doesn't make its appearance at San Diego Comic-Con any less thrilling. After all, the trailer for this recently announced animated series is mind-bending enough, I can't even imagine going through an experience that does justice to what it may show.
There is a panel, of course, in which attendees will gather Thursday, July 18 at 1:45 p.m. PT to learn more about the Rosa Salazar-led series. What exactly will Bojack Horseman creators Raphael Bob-Waksberg & Kate Purdy have in store for everyone who shows up to the Indigo Ballroom? Probably only great things.
The Man In High Castle
The most veteran original of the bunch is headed into its final season, and Amazon isn't going to let The Man In High Castle go silently into Season 4. Expect a panel in room 6A at the San Diego Convention Center Saturday, July 20 beginning at 4:15 p.m PT which should provide details on all that's coming in the final stretch of episodes.
As far as who will be attending, it's currently listed that stars and creators will be on hand which includes Isa Dick Hackett, Daniel Percival, David Scarpa, Rufus Sewell, Joel de la Fuente, Jason O’Mara, Chelah Horsdal and Frances Turner. Quite a grouping, and for those at SDCC, final season panels often aren't the panels any fan wants to miss.
