Bachelorette Spoilers: How Tyler C. Is The New Peter Kraus
MAJOR SPOILERS ahead on how The Bachelorette Hannah Brown's 2019 Season 15 reportedly ends for Tyler C.
Arguably the best-looking guy of the season. Clearly has chemistry with the Bachelorette. Clearly can't stand another frontrunner in the house. Is spoiled as the one engaged to the Bachelorette. Is later un-spoiled as the winner, with an unpopular guy said to be the chosen one instead. Is adored even more. Fans swoon at his every word and lash out at the Bachelorette for being so foolish to let him go. Is pushed to be the next Bachelor.
That was Peter Kraus in Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay's 2017 Season 13. It's also currently Tyler Cameron in Bachelorette Hannah Brown's 2019 Season 15.
The two Bachelorette favorites have a lot in common. The Bachelorette 2019 fans quickly fell for Tyler C., and it helped that Reality Steve had spoiled that Hannah picked Tyler C. in the end. We thought we were watching their love story, and it was beautiful.
Then the spoilers changed. Hannah picked ... Jed? Jed Wyatt had already admitted he only went on The Bachelorette to promote his music. Fair enough, really. He didn't get much heat for that, and actually he was praised for his candor. But outside of the show, he's been embroiled in controversy for supposedly having a girlfriend back home, along with allegedly a sidechick he was cheating with, all right before going on The Bachelorette and getting engaged to Hannah.
I don't see the attraction to Jed. A lot of fans didn't see the attraction to Bryan Abasolo either, and were shocked when Reality Steve's spoilers changed on that front too. During The Bachelorette 2017, we thought we were watching Rachel and Peter's love story. Then the spoilers changed to Bryan and it was a record-scratch. Bryan came off as smarmy and insincere, and it didn't help his case that fan-favorite Peter didn't like him.
Fans couldn't believe Rachel would pick Bryan over Peter. But, if she did, they figured that made Peter the easy choice for the next Bachelor. We're in a similar boat with Hannah and Tyler C., except for a few key differences.

For one, Reality Steve recently updated fans that Hannah had dumped Jed. Completely. First, she reportedly just ended the engagement. Shortly after that, we were told she broke up with Jed completely and that we'll see the breakup on July 30, the second night of the "After the Final Rose" special, during the two-night finale.
That changed things a bit, because now some fans are hoping Hannah and Tyler C. can still be together. Maybe we can get that love story we thought we had signed on to watch. However, it may not be what Hannah or Tyler C. actually want right now. Tyler C. may want to be the Bachelor, we don't know. If I were Hannah, I'd want to take a break from all men right about now.
Peter Kraus did not end up being the next Bachelor. Apparently his waffling on the whole concept of getting engaged on The Bachelor and Bachelorette didn't sit well with The Powers That Be, even though it's a clear sign of sanity. (Just ask Cassie Randolph, who is currently a big fan of the other Peter.) Instead, ABC dug into the roster and gave the 2018 job to Arie Luyendyk Jr. of The Bachelorette Season 8, who dumped his fiancée for his runner-up. Way to upgrade, ABC.
Will Tyler C. be the 2020 Bachelor? Right now, he has competition from Mike Johnson, with many fans still hoping he gets the job. Plus, we have Bachelor in Paradise 2019, and ABC could always pick a guy from that lineup. But if Hannah B. and Tyler C. don't end up together, some fans will want him for the job.
Until they don't.
Tyler C. rubbed some people the wrong way with his "5'8" villain" stab at Luke Parker. In that way, he's also similar to Peter Kraus. Peter gave some folks -- including Bachelorette Rachel -- some red flag signs when he told her she'd be settling for a mediocre life to pick Bryan. These guys are not angels. It's good to remember that. Whoever becomes the next Bachelor will fall from a lofty height. It happens every single season. Fans get frustrated with the rose-giver's decisions, and the shine wears off. It's almost better to keep a fan favorite separate from that world.
At this point, Bachelorette Rachel and Bryan are still together and plan to get married next month in August 2019. And Peter Kraus? He's been linked to Bachelor alum Bibiana Julian (apparently that didn't go too well) and had a date with Nikki Bella. Otherwise, hopefully he's just out there living his best life, never regretting that he wasn't actually picked in the end or the next rose-giver.
The Bachelorette Season 15 is winding down, with hometowns airing tonight (Monday, July 8 at 8 p.m.), then overnights and "The Men Tell All." They are somehow going to drag the Luke P. drama out further since the finale doesn't air until July 29-30, with Bachelor in Paradise 2019 premiering August 5. ABC has plenty of time to find the next Bachelor, since that show typically tapes from September through November for a January premiere.
Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
