The Bachelorette's Jed Wyatt Asks Fans To Stop Harassing His Family
Spoilers ahead for Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette on ABC.
No season in the Bachelor franchise is without its drama, but Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette has been especially melodramatic thanks to Jed Wyatt, Luke Parker, and more. Although Luke has been the most obvious in causing a stir, Jed Wyatt's pre-Bachelorette actions caught up with him once the episodes started airing, as rumors began to circulate that he had a girlfriend when he signed on for The Bachelorette to try and advance his music career, and some fans didn't handle it well. Talk about being there for the wrong reasons!
Unsurprisingly, viewers have spoken out in defense of Hannah. The show is called The Bachelorette, after all! According to Jed himself, though, some of the Hannah defense went far beyond just some rude posts on social media. He finally explained as much as he can about the girlfriend situation while asking fans to leave his family alone, sharing this:
As viewers who caught the hometowns episode of The Bachelorette on July 8 know, the Instagram post shows Jed Wyatt, his sister, and his parents all smiling happily. Notably, it does not feature Hannah. In Jed's message, he revealed that threats via letter and phone call have been sent to their "homes," which suggests it's not just Jed who received them.
Even worse, his parents and sister are being harassed in public. No matter what you may think of what Jed did or didn't do to Hannah, this is an unpleasant situation for his family. Unfortunately for everybody, Jed can't actually weigh in on what happened just yet.
The Bachelorette is still airing new episodes, and not all fans keep up with the behind-the-scenes spoilers that seem to have given away who Hannah picks. Then again, that Jimmy Kimmel moment did seem to reveal the winner to the general public, but that could have been a coincidence. The "After the Final Rose" special that follows seasons of The Bachelor and Bachelorette should be appointment TV for franchise fans.
Spoilers ahead for Bachelorette leaks and spoilers. Despite early reports that it was Tyler C. who would win Hannah's heart at the end of the season, spoilers from generally reliable source Reality Steve stated that Jed would be the winner of The Bachelorette. He later stated that Hannah broke off their engagement while new episodes aired, quite possibly as she learned about the side of Jed he only showed to the camera and the other guys while wooing her.

Then rumors began to circulate that Hannah broke up with Jed entirely and the breakup was filmed, to be shown during "After the Final Rose" on July 30. Will fans be satisfied to see the breakup, considering how Jed seemingly wronged Hannah? Or will there be a backlash against Hannah, like there was when Arie Luyendyk dumped Becca Kufrin on camera to start things up with the runner up again? Billboards were erected to protest that twist! End spoilers.
We'll have to wait and see what happens. The next episode will be the fantasy suites installment, and it promises to deliver Luke's long-awaited meltdown after Hannah drops the sex-in-a-windmill bombshell on him. Both Luke and Jed had a close call in the July 8 episode, and it should be interesting to see how Hannah handles having four suitors around for the fantasy suites when the pool is usually narrowed down to three candidates by this point. New episodes of The Bachelorette air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
