Bachelorette Spoilers: Did Tyler C.'s Mom Reveal The Next Bachelor 2020?
MAJOR SPOILERS ahead for Bachelorette Hannah Brown's 2019 Season 15 and rumored Bachelor 2020.
Don't get too excited yet. Or too upset. Right now, this Bachelor 2020 report is just a rumor that supposedly came from The Bachelorette 2019 finalist Tyler C.'s mom to a bunch of other people.
At this point, Hannah Brown's The Bachelorette 2019 still has the "Men Tell All" special and finale to air. We've already been told that -- after kicking out Luke P. one more time -- Hannah next dumps Peter Weber, and has Tyler Cameron and Jed Wyatt as her final two. The original spoilers said Hannah picked Tyler C. That was changed to Hannah picking Wrong Reasons Jed.
That left Tyler C. in the position of potential Bachelor. However, Mike Johnson has also had a lot of support as potential 2020 Bachelor. Spoiler guru Reality Steve said Mike is the most popular guy at the "Men Tell All" special, which was taped this past Friday to air Monday, July 22.
So The Bachelor 2020 seems to be down to Tyler C. or Mike, depending on how The Bachelor producers feel (not that Mike Fleiss should have a say on a blessed thing right now) and how the guys feel. Would they even want the gig? That was an issue with Peter Kraus, if you recall, and I've been seeing a lot of Peter K. in Tyler C.
However, Tyler C. fans got a surge of hope this week, via a rumor that Tyler C.'s own mom reportedly said he would be the next Bachelor. Here's more from Reality Steve on that:
I would like to request that we remove pilot Pete from consideration. It's not even just the way he treated the girl he was seeing before going on the show. I'm just not feeling it as much from Windmill Sex Guy, and it seems like the majority of Bachelor Nation would prefer Tyler C. or Mike.

So we don't really know what Tyler C.'s mom might have said. Even if she did say something, she may have been joking around. She may have been doing some wishful thinking. Or she may have heard from her son that The Bachelor producers reached out to him as a possible candidate -- which would make sense. Doesn't mean he'd 100% get the job, but they reach out to several potential guys. Maybe she jumped the gun from that conversation? I'm obviously speculating.
I thought The Bachelor 2020 gig might be Mike's after hearing how the "Men Tell All" played out, but Tyler C. is going to get the last word of the season -- if Bachelorette Hannah does indeed pick Jed, then dumps Jed in that taped piece for the "After the Final Rose" special, and Jed tells whatever story he tells about a girlfriend back home.
By comparison, Tyler C. is probably going to come out looking even better than he already did. And he already looked good. So if Tyler C. is actually considering the Bachelor gig enough to possibly maybe relay that intel to his mom ... that is indeed a good sign that he could be the 2020 Bachelor.
Some fans were hoping that Hannah and Tyler would reconnect after The Bachelorette. If she dumps Jed, why not pull a Jason/Arie and get with the runner-up? But, according to Reality Steve, that's not happening:
That's sad to hear, but it would be good news for Tyler C.'s chances as the next Bachelor. If he's not with Hannah, and he's interested in finding love through this wonderfully ridiculous TV show, the job could be his.
If Tyler C. is the next Bachelor, what about Mike? You could also reverse the question. Mike and Tyler C. are both very popular. Mike would also be the first black Bachelor in 24 seasons. He's not only a great fit for the role, he'd be making Bachelor history at a time when The Bachelor franchise could use some good news.
ABC could always do the double-bachelor thing again. They first did that in The Bachelor Season 6 with Byron Velvick and Jay Overby. The ladies voted for Byron to be the Bachelor for the full season. They did that again on The Bachelorette Season 11 with Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson, with the guys picking Kaitlyn to be the Bachelorette.
Bachelor in Paradise tends to be pretty popular, showing multiple people dating each other. They could always do something brand new in 2020 and have two Bachelors for the entire season. Let the women date both Tyler C. and Mike the whole time. I'd love that. Not that anyone at ABC really cares what I love, or they never would've chosen half the Bachelors of the past 17 years. But my choice would be both.
The Bachelorette 2019 continues for two more weeks, and then we have the mess of Bachelor in Paradise 2019 starting Monday, August 5 on ABC.
Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
