Jersey Shore Family Vacation: The Situation's Wedding Song And More Reveals From The Reception Episode
Warning! The following contains spoilers for Jersey Shore Family Vacation. Read at your own risk!
The wedding bells have rung on Jersey Shore Family Vacation, and Lauren and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino are married. Things moved on to the reception, which was about the most over-the-top glamorous wedding reception that's ever been shown on television. It was "extra" in the best way possible, although there was so much to see viewers did miss out on some key moments of the wedding.
For example, Jersey Shore Family Vacation showed Lauren and Situation's first dance, but decided to focus on the immense amount of smoke rolling out of the fog machine choking out the audience. The cast filled in some of the details the cameras glossed over, including Lauren who shared the song that she and Mike danced to during the fog-splosion.
I like that Lauren Sorrentino made sure to add on the dance was perfect, because Jersey Shore Family Vacation made that fog look like it was a real problem. Members of the audience were seen coughing during the dance, and many in the cast joked about how overbearing it was in the confessional segments. It may have been, but it's good to see it didn't drag down Lauren's mood in the slightest.
Also, in case it wasn't evident in the episode, there was a healthy bit of Jersey Shore references injected into the event. It wasn't overbearing, or even tacky by any means, but it does seem like MTV made sure we and guests knew this was a wedding for one of its cast. Attendees were able to take a picture with various props, including the iconic "duck phone." JWoww shared a picture of her daughter and Snooki's daughter (who were flower girls) posing with the phone.
In other news, the teased drama of Jen Harley appearing at the wedding wasn't as bad as the cast thought it would be. That's kind of something Jersey Shore Family Vacation viewers could've assumed, as the tabloids would've been all over any drama that would've emerged from the event. There was some tension in the fact that groomsmen Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino drank more than their fair share at the event, but there's always someone at every wedding, right?
In the end, a good time was had by all, and it was certainly a great way to cap off what will surely be a much sadder batch of episodes. The tease for next week showed more Ronnie drama, JWoww's escalating issues with her divorce, and The Situation headed to prison, so things are going to head downhill. On a positive note, Deena's getting closer to giving birth so at least there are some positive things happening here!
