Arrow Season 8 Premiere: Who Is Part Of This Deadly Conversation?

Arrow The CW

As Arrow heads into its final season, Stephen Amell has been hyping up fans for an action-packed batch of final episodes. From the actor's latest tease of Season 8, we can be sure that Oliver won't be taking on his chapter entirely alone, as new dialogue shows an ally is ready to join his side.

Oliver's got someone ready to help, but will he take it? Judging from this bit of dialogue from the Season 8 opener, the Green Arrow is not in the business of getting anyone killed.

Well, we know from prior reports on Season 8 Oliver definitely isn't talking to Felicity. With that said, it seems likely he's referring to someone who is currently or formerly associated with Team Arrow, but who? Diggle? Black Canary, or is it Black Siren? Maybe it's someone from even further back like Thea?

What may be more interesting is that Oliver is concerned that letting this person help will almost certainly lead to their death. Is this because he's unsure of the volunteer's fighting abilities, or is well-aware the threat he's about to face is unlike anything he or his allies have ever seen? He may even have some privileged information from The Monitor, who may have told Oliver it's best that he handle this one solo to prevent casualties.

It doesn't seem like the type of conversation Oliver would have with someone like Malcolm Merlyn, although we can't fully rule out John Barrowman's character given the recent news he'll return for Season 8. If Oliver tried to say something like that to Merlyn, he'd be hit with a pretty smart ass response in return. Also Arrow's main character wouldn't be all that worried about seeing Merlyn die yet again, I'd reckon.

Death may be unavoidable for some characters in Arrow's final season, or really any of the upcoming seasons in the Arrow-verse. The shared universe is collectively headed to its adaptation of "Crisis on Infinite Earths," which featured a whole lot of bloodshed in DC Comics. So, Oliver may be the cause of this person's death if they end up helping him, but in the long run they just may be one of many by the time it's all said and done.
