Vikings is reminding fans why Lagertha was so lost after Heahmund died. The Vikings Season 5 Volume 2 Blu-ray/DVD set releases on October 8, and you can get an early peek at one of the goodies you'll find on the set via this exclusive scene!
In the clip below, you can check out an extended version of the scene that saw Lagertha and Heahmund chatting about Wessex. As fans will recall, Lagertha got super close to her ill-fated beau in Season 5. Check the couple out in happier times in the Vikings scene here:
This is just one of the deleted/extended scenes you can watch on the Vikings Season 5 Volume 2 Blu-ray/DVD set. Other special features include extended versions of all of Season 5B’s ten episodes. There is also audio commentary from Vikings’ creator, Michael Hirst, and series star, Gustaf Skarsgard (Floki). As far as featurettes go, the Vikings Season 5 Volume 2 Blu-ray/DVD set is plentiful.
These are the featurettes: “The Epic War of Ragnar’s Sons” and “The King and the Warrior Bishop.” Heahmund alert! Between all of that and the deleted scenes, you should be kept pretty busy! You will want to get as much insight as possible as you head into Vikings’ final season.
With six seasons under its belt, Vikings will end its run with Season 6. There is still a lot more excitement in store! A refresher with lots of additional insight into what has transpired so far is bound to be quite valuable at this point. Lagertha ended up feeling quite intensely for Heahmund. A part that made his eventual death quite traumatic for the Vikings fan-favorite. As fans will recall, Lagertha disappeared from Vikings for a while, before resurfacing ahead of the season’s end.
Heahmund’s death turned out to be the tipping point for the fierce shield-maiden. As you can see on the Blu-ray/DVD set, Lagertha eventually found her way again and even returned to Kattegat at the end of Vikings Season 5. That is where she pronounced her son, Bjorn, the new King of Kattegat! Now, Lagertha is set to set to work on “redefining her last chapter.”
In the lead-up to the Vikings Season 5 Volume 2 Blu-ray/DVD set, series creator Michael Hirst offered insight to CinemaBlend regarding whether viewers had seen the last of Rollo. He also discussed Ivar’s travel plans in the finale and how Bjorn’s possible paternity impacts his relationship with Lagertha.
As for Season 6, there is a considerable amount known so far about Vikings’ last chapter. Following Heahmund’s death, Lagertha is back in Kattegat, and her initial plans may surprise fans. Of course, some teasers have indicated why those plans may not last long. There is only one way to know for sure.
Vikings: Season 5 Volume 2 Blu-ray/DVD set will release on October 8. Season 6 of Vikings has not received a premiere date yet, so keep staying tuned. It has to be announced by History eventually! In the meantime, there will be a lot of fall premieres making their way to television.
