CBS' S.W.A.T. Has A Huge Criminal Minds Reunion Coming For Shemar Moore
CBS’ S.W.A.T. has a substantial Criminal Minds reunion in the works for Shemar Moore in Season 3. The actor starred on Criminal Minds for over ten seasons before departing the drama in Season 11. He has done a couple of guest stints since leaving. Well, he will not have to return to Criminal Minds for this reunion!
S.W.A.T. will reunite him with a very pivotal former co-star: Rochelle Aytes, per TVLine. Aytes and Shemar Moore notably portrayed love interests on Criminal Minds. Moore’s Derek and Aytes’ Savannah ended up becoming husband and wife and parents to a son. Will S.W.A.T. utilize their experience playing love interests?
Yes, Shemar Moore and Rochelle Aytes will be rekindling their romantic chemistry for S.W.A.T.! Aytes is joining the police procedural as a love interest for Moore’s Hondo. There is good news for fans hoping this Criminal Minds reunion lasts a while. Aytes is joining S.W.A.T. in a recurring capacity. Who will Aytes be playing?
Rochelle Aytes will portray Nichelle, a woman from an upper-middle-class neighborhood in Baldwin Hills, who desires to give back. She runs a community center in South L.A. What brings her and Hondo together on S.W.A.T.? A traffic accident. From there, a romance between the pair begins, but it is not all smooth sailing going forward.
Apparently, Hondo has to change his approach to winning Nichelle’s heart. She ends up being hesitant to date him due to his reputation for short-term relationships. Can Hondo manage to win her over? He will have time, and fans should get an ample chance to see where their relationship goes. When will Aytes make her S.W.A.T. debut?
Rochelle Aytes’ first episode airs Wednesday, November 13. In that episode, the SWAT team is in pursuit of thieves, who have taken a high-tech thermal lance. Hondo is going to be super busy! News of his new love interest comes after his former lover, Jessica, was earlier confirmed to have left S.W.A.T. for good.
Can Hondo and Nichelle’s relationship go the distance? Only time will tell. Along with starring on Criminal Minds, Rochelle Aytes is familiar to television viewers for her role on the ABC drama Mistresses (pictured above) and as a key character on Hawaii Five-O. Aytes played McGarrett’s former flame and eventual foe on the series, which is a role she reprised in Season 9.
