The Vampire Diaries vet, Chris Wood, is coming to Legacies in Season 2. Yes, it is finally happening. The shows are colliding once again! This time with the return of a major villain from The Vampire Diaries. Fans have been waiting for this one and somewhat expecting it for a while. Kai's nieces, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman, are front and center on the spinoff.
Well, Lizzie and Josie are about to have a family reunion with their evil Uncle Kai. That’s right, Chris Wood will be reprising his role as Kai Parker on Legacies in Season 2, per EW. When can fans expect him to make his villainous debut on the spinoff? Wood’s Kai will make his first appearance on Legacies in Episode 12.
That tells you which episode of Season 2 to expect him in, but when will his return air? Legacies fans will have to until the midseason to see what Kai gets up too. Chris Wood’s first episode on The Vampire Diaries spinoff will air during February. Could it be just in time for sweeps? If so, Legacies is coming on strong!
It is unclear if Kai will appear on Legacies before or after Valentine’s Day. Either way, I do not think Mystic Falls is going to be breaking out any heart-shaped candy for him. Fans of The Vampire Diaries will recall the brutal reign of terror he unleashed on the series.
Co-star Ian Somerhalder, who played Damon on The Vampire Diaries, previously shared that he considers Kai, the series’ best villain. And, what a villain he was! During his time in the original series, Kai murdered his pregnant twin sister, Jo. As part of Nina Dobrev’s exit story as Elena, he also put her in a sleeping spell that linked her and Bonnie. If Bonnie died, Elena would wake up.
If you were wondering how Alaric’s daughters survived, there is an answer. A magical spell moved Jo and Alaric’s unborn twin daughters into Caroline’s womb. Thus, making her the twins’ surrogate mother. Last season on Legacies, Caroline worked off-screen for a solution to the Merge. Will Kai’s Legacies debut also herald Caroline’s? Stay tuned.
All of that “rude” pressure on Chris Wood has clearly paid off, and fans will have to see how it works on-screen. Family reunions have been going around on Legacies, so viewers will just have to stay tuned to see how Kai’s occurs. Given his track record, it should not be the happiest of meetings.
Last season, Kai’s sister Jo reunited with her daughters for a short time. It was a very emotional reunion for Josie. She will undoubtedly feel more emotions when her uncle appears, just not the same ones. February is going to be a very interesting one for the Saltzman sisters!
