The Masked Singer Crowned Its Season 2 Champion And Dropped A Preview For Season 3
Warning! The following contains spoilers for the Season 2 finale of The Masked Singer. Read at your own risk!
It seemed impossible at the start, but somehow, The Masked Singer topped Season 1 with Season 2. After a competitive season and a few shocking exits, the finale night arrived with three worthy competitors all capable of winning the entire competition. Flamingo, Rottweiler, and Fox all deserved the win, but only one could get the golden mask trophy. At the end of the day Flamingo and Rottweiler went home, and it was the Fox who stood tall as the Season 2 champion.
Of course, The Masked Singer fans are more concerned about who was underneath the mask, and the Season 2 finale unmasked each remaining competitor in the season. Let's start with the winner, who pulled off his steampunk-inspired attire and revealed himself to be television personality and all around great guy Wayne Brady.
Wayne Brady's reveal wasn't a massive shock to many viewers on The Masked Singer; the internet had been hot on his tail for a while. The same was true of The Flamingo and Rottweiler, who got unmasked ahead of Brady's reveal and were shown to be Adrienne Houghton and Chris Daughtry. The only real shock to all the judges was Chris Daughtry, which was honestly somewhat surprising given the rock singer's very distinguishable voice. Robin Thicke sniffed out Wayne Brady, but not Daughtry?
In addition to all the craziness of the Season 2 finale, Fox hit us with a fresh look at Season 3 of The Masked Singer. The trailer featured a fresh look at some costumes that will be featured in the new episodes, and potentially some clues about the individuals who will appear in the upcoming season.
Season 3 will feature a Mouse Bride, Banana, Robot, and a female variant of The Monster. It also appears the show is teasing the types of folks that will be featured in the season, though this could be just a generic tease that covers the typical people that are featured on the program. Let's be honest, is the tease of a rich L.A. socialite, a rough and tumble country type, and football players really all that revealing? Honestly, the football part could be more of a reference to Season 3's premiere after the Super Bowl.
