When Hope Calls was developed for Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now.

For those who may need a refresher, news of When Hope Calls was announced last year. It tells the tale of two sisters, Lillian (Morgan Kohan) and Grace (Jocelyn Hudon), who were introduced in When Calls the Heart’s 2019 holiday movie. When Hope Calls follows Lillian and Grace as they open an orphanage circa 1916 in the Western town of Brookfield.
Fans will now get to watch the When Hope Calls duo as they deal with a lot of issues, right after the latest exciting episode of When Calls the Heart. While trying to help the kids in the orphanage, the sister act searches for romance, pursuing personal happiness according to Hallmark. Will it be entirely smooth sailing?
This is the When Calls the Heart franchise, and it is no stranger to heartache, just ask Elizabeth Thatcher Thornton. She lost her beloved husband, Jack, when he was killed off of the show. Thankfully things have turned out happier for Jack’s portrayer. Just as in that series, the sisters of When Hope Calls will be no strangers to personal and professional troubles.
In Brookefield, Lillian and Grace run up against the “traditions of cattle ranchers” and the “ambitions of a growing town,” per Hallmark.
