Jared Padalecki is readying to say goodbye to Supernatural, and he and his co-stars are preparing for what comes next. In Padalecki’s case, he will be switching gears from hunting the supernatural to life as a Texas Ranger. Padalecki is set to star in The CW’s reboot of the Chuck Norris classic. Now Walker, Texas Ranger has cast a CW vet in a critical role.
According to Variety, The 100’s Lindsey Morgan has joined the cast of Walker, Texas Ranger, in a lead role! Morgan has played Raven Reyes on The 100 since the series’ first season. The 100 will be ending with its upcoming seventh season. Hence, Walker, Texas Ranger will star two lead actors coming off of long-running series.
Who is Lindsey Morgan playing on Walker, Texas Ranger? The actress will star as Walker’s new partner, Micki. She is a San Antonio native, born and raised in the Texas city, with her family having been in Texas, pre-Texas. Micki is said to be “focused” and “perceptive.” Two traits that will undoubtedly serve her well in her line of work.
Along with being one of the first female Texas Rangers in history, Micki was in the Army and on the police force. Micki is also said to have personal experiences with gender discrimination. Prospective viewers will get a chance to see Micki and Jared Padalecki as Cordell Walker when the series arrives.
Walker, Texas Ranger has a series order from The CW, and the show is already clearly taking shape! Jared Padalecki’s Cordell Walker is a widower and, accordingly, a single father of two. He is fresh from a two-year undercover mission and will have to adjust to life at home with his kids when the series begins.
On the professional front, Lindsey Morgan’s Micki is his new partner, so there will be a lot of changes in store for him. The two could have one case in Cordell Walker’s suspicions regarding his wife’s death. Will Micki and Walker work together to learn the truth? This is Walker, Texas Ranger we are talking about, so expect some investigations!
I have seen Lindsey Morgan in action on-screen, and she is a terrific actress. It will be interesting to learn what Morgan and Jared Padalecki’s chemistry will be like as partners. Before fans can see what happens between them, Supernatural will have to finish its run. Padalecki has shared his thoughts on how fans will react to the series’ finale.
