Why is Legacies Season 2 suddenly on a break and won't return with new episodes until mid-March 2020? It's annoying. Legacies' most recent new episode -- Season 2, Episode 13, "You Can't Save Them All" -- aired February 13. It was the second and possibly final episode with Kai Parker returning from The Vampire Diaries. The CW aired a tantalizing promo for Legacies Season 2, Episode 14, "There's a Place Where the Lost Things Go," but it won't air until March 12.

In order to deal with their recent trauma, Emma (guest star Karen David) suggests the students participate in a group simulation that transports them to a film noir world. Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), Josie (Kaylee Bryant), Lizzie (Jenny Boyd), MG (Quincy Fouse) and Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith) quickly learn they must confront their conflicts head-on or risk facing the game's catastrophic consequences.
Film noir! I can see MG appreciating this from a geek perspective. You have to love the promo for Legacies 2x14 "There's A Place Where The Lost Things Go":

But Thursday, March 12? How frustrating. It's a strange choice, to me, since The CW is trying to build an audience for its new show Katy Keene, which is currently airing its first season Thursdays at 8 p.m. But instead of airing Legacies right after it, on February 20, the network aired Dogs of the Year. Next Thursday, February 27, The CW is airing an episode of Legacies, but it's a repeat -- Season 2, Episode 9, "I Couldn't Have Done This Without You." It looks like we're getting more Legacies Season 2 repeats until the new episode on March 12.
I don't love this, and Legacies did not do this last year with Season 1. Granted, Season 1 had 16 episodes and Season 2 is meant to have more -- reportedly 20. Not that Legacies is the only showing getting shuffled around. After all, Supernatural usually airs before Legacies, but after January 30, it's on break until March 16, 2020 -- and yes, when it returns it'll air on a Monday. Not how I'd handle any of this, but I don't run a network.
Legacies Season 2 was really building momentum in 2020, especially with Dark Josie, Kai, and company. I hope the show continues to be strong with Episode 14 through the end of the season. The CW already renewed Legacies for Season 3, and fans have ideas about who and what they'd like to see. It sounds like there's hope to see Hope Mikaelson's Aunt Freya again, at the very least.
Legacies Season 2 returns Thursday, March 12 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
