Disney+ has seemingly been a pretty big success for Disney in the months since it launched domestically and the service’s foray into the world of streaming couldn’t have come at a better time. In places throughout the world, people in all kinds of fields -- even celebrities -- have been quarantined in their households for days or weeks at a time.
It was back in January that Disney+ announced that it would bump up the European release date from March 31 to March 24. Given the quarantined nature of societies in many of the countries the streaming service is headed, that move was actually pretty prescient, even if Disney didn’t know it at the time.
Now we’re inching closer and closer to that date and Disney+ is available for pre-order. There’s still a free 7-day trial for new potential subscribers in the States, but if you live where the service is expanding, Disney+ will be offering discounted rates for those in Western Europe who pre-order a full year of Disney+.
The Euro countries that will start having Disney+ available are:
The actual cost for the streaming service in pounds and euros per month would be: £5.99/€6.99. If you pony up for a year at once it would be £59.99/€69.99. However, if you are in one of the aforementioned countries and want to invest in Disney+ as part of the presale, the company has put together pre-sale prices that will enable you to get a full year at a discount.
So, if in the UK it normally will be £59.99 for a year, the pre-sale price will be £49.99. In euros, €69.99 for a year will become €59.99. Elsewhere prices are similar and you can see more with the handy presale chart below.

Each country's app will show what is available in app, but Disney has already been good about releasing additional content as people are quarantined and spending more time in their homes. In fact, Frozen II has already hit the service very early Stateside, courtesy of Disney+. I’d expect some more changes to streamers in the coming weeks, and I’m presuming in ways that will only benefit consumers who are stuck at home.
The current deals are similar to what Disney has done for consumers Stateside ahead of other Disney+ releases. If there’s one thing we learned from those it is that the cheaper yearly deals won't last long, so if Disney+ is something your family is interested in, striking while the iron is hot can be a good deal.
In the meantime, stay safe out there and happy Disney+ streaming!
