The Masked Singer’s Latest Elimination Already Has A Deal For More Fox Shows
Warning: Spoilers below for the most recent episode of The Masked Singer!
The Masked Singer has captivated audiences with the amount of surprises, creative costumes and actually talented singers they've gotten to perform on the show. Obviously, the major reason people are so enamored of the singing competition is because they get to try to guess who's inside those costumes. Recently, Season 3 singer The Swan was revealed to be actress and singer Bella Thorne, and now we're hearing that she's already got more work with Fox lined up.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bella Thorne has signed a nonexclusive development deal with Fox. Under the terms of the contract, Thorne will be developing both scripted and unscripted shows for the network. There's no word right now on what kind of shows Thorne has up her sleeve which would be perfect for Fox, but you can't dispute the fact that she's she's used her talents for quite a wide range of projects until now.
While many were surprised to see that Bella Thorne was The Swan when she was unmasked on The Masked Singer Wednesday night, the former Disney star managed to create some even more shocking additions to her resume within the past few years. Thorne has been acting in, and even directing, short films of an adult nature. Most of these videos were to promote products from her makeup line, Thorne By Bella, but the change was a major one for fans who'd grown up watching her in more wholesome fare like Shake It Up, Good Luck Charlie and Wizards of Waverly Place.
The surprises didn't end there, either. Last year, Bella Thorne directed another short, but this time it was the definitely adult short film Her & Him for PornHub. After the trailer was released last August, Thorne said that she had been trying to get the film made for a while but couldn't get funding for it until the porn website stepped in, also noting that she was originally looking to make a "Christmas horror movie," but her vision morphed into Her & Him. She later won an award for her work on the movie, so it's pretty clear that Thorne has creative ideas to spare for her deal with Fox.
Bella Thorne, of course, has also done several other, far less potentially controversial projects in her long career as an actress, having appeared in movies and television shows that run the gamut from the aforementioned Disney properties to dramas, and teen comedies to horror. Throne has also lent her talents to shows like Big Love, CSI, Scream, Famous in Love, Speechless and the upcoming Paradise City, and been in movies such as Blended, The Duff, The Babysitter (which has a sequel coming up), Assassination Nation and Tyler Perry's Boo! A Madea Halloween.
There's no word right now on when we could see programming from Bella Thorne's deal with Fox debut on screen, but development on TV shows can take a while, especially considering the state of the entertainment industry right now.
