Jimmy Fallon, Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell Created A Soap Opera And It’s Pretty Amazing
Well, this is certainly not a “janky” use of the current situation in late night. Recently, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon found yet another creative way to do a sketch, and this one involved Jimmy Fallon joining forces with Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell. In other words, we had some Saturday Night Live heavyweights come together for a truly hilarious moment!
Jimmy Fallon took a break from showing off his fantastic home to put together a soap opera. In a riff of NBC’s renewed sudser Days of Our Lives, Fallon teamed up with Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig for – The Longest Days of Our Lives. Incredibly, the trio did it all via video chat. Check it out below:
I laughed out loud (a rarity), and have a feeling I am not alone. This soap opera parody is the best! Will Ferrell somehow managed to play multiple characters, while Kristen Wiig ended up pulling off two. Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon had the tricky task of playing an amnesiac. All in all, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was not holding back with this one.
Since late night television is having to forego audiences, there was no chance to hear others laugh as they watched the soap opera skit, and there could have been quite a few with this one. At the 59-second mark, you can even see Kristen Wiig understandably start to crack up as Will Ferrell changes from “Alejandro” to “Montgomery.”
Somehow, Jimmy Fallon somehow managed to keep a straight face. And on a related note, is it just me or does Will Ferrell’s Montgomery sound a lot like Ferrell’s Sherlock Holmes from Holmes & Watson? Just a thought. Either way, Ferrell absolutely nailed it as did the soap opera’s script, which featured one shocking twist after another.
At one point, a Charmin toilet paper heiress figures into the equation. Duh-duh-duh! Will Ferrell’s costume changes, and those cyber slaps are among the copious highlights to comprise the hilarious skit. At the 1:30-mark, Jimmy Fallon and Kristen Wiig start to crack up as Ferrell gasps again following a brief moment to transform into “another other brother.”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is undoubtedly giving its all to its segments as stars guest via video chat. Fallon has had a bevy of celebrities on to talk, including Lady Gaga and Adam Sandler.

It's going to be hard to beat this soap opera sketch, so one can only imagine what Fallon try to do to top himself. And when it's safe to return the show to normal, it will also be fun to see if any of these skits stick. Here's hoping there is another installment of The Longest Days of Our Lives. Having to wait for a new one just made my days a little longer.
New episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon air at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC and, if you want more exciting (and new) content, check out this spring’s premieres.
