Watch Gigi Hadid Confirm Her Pregnancy On Jimmy Fallon, Get Host Really Excited
Well, we need not wonder anymore whether or not supermodel Gigi Hadid and singer Zayn Malik are expecting their first child. After a few days of speculation, Hadid appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and finally confirmed the news herself. We know things have probably been kinda tough for Fallon as he's had to struggle through some rather janky looking episodes of his late night talk show, which has been recorded from his home for several weeks now, but, man, did he ever get excited at the news!
Jimmy Fallon has had a satisfying string of guests appear on The Tonight Show since he had to begin broadcasting from home, but it would seem that nothing has excited him more than having pregnant model du jour Gigi Hadid join him and actually confirm that she's having her first child with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik. And, Fallon doesn't just seem happy to have been the first one to get the scoop from Hadid, either. Take a look:
See? Jimmy Fallon called the announcement that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are expecting a little one "the best news EVER!" as though he really lives for news that babies are being created. If that's true, I'm not knocking it, but it is a bit surprising to see. Fallon goes on to say that he believes it's the best news one could get, even right now when times are rough in a lot of ways, and called it "a ray of sunshine that we all needed."
Honestly? I don't know if I've seen Jimmy Fallon this happy on TV since the last time he broke character on Saturday Night Live and engaged in a giggle fit.
I will say that Jimmy Fallon's words must definitely ring quite true for Gigi Hadid. She grinned from ear to ear throughout this whole portion of the interview, even when talking about how she and Zayn Malik weren't able to reveal their big baby news in their own time. It was on Tuesday that TMZ first broke the news of the Hadid / Malik (Halik?) bundle of joy. A couple of days later, Hadid's mother, Yolanda, confirmed the news to a Dutch media outlet, but the couple in question kept things to themselves until this appearance on The Tonight Show.
The Jimmy Fallon love-fest wasn't over yet, though. Before moving on to warm wishes for Gigi Hadid's birthday, which was last week, he told her that she and Malik should feel free to call "Uncle Jimmy" if they need anything at all. Is it possible that Fallon and Hadid are closer than enthusiastic talk show host and chatty sometime guest? Could these two actually be real-world friends? Will we ever know the truth?!
Seriously, though, it was really nice to see Jimmy Fallon get so amped up about everything from Gigi Hadid's pregnancy to her craving for everything bagels and the giant everything bagel cake that Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro made for her birthday. This is exactly the kind of happy-happy-joy-joy entertainment we need to fill our brains with right now, so the result of this baby news really was good for everyone.
