SEAL Team's David Boreanaz Talks The Aftermath Of The Surprise Season 3 Finale Hookup
Spoilers ahead for the Season 3 finale of SEAL Team on CBS, called "No Choice in Duty."
SEAL Team came to a premature end in Season 3, but that doesn't mean the show wrapped in the 2019-2020 TV season without any kind of cliffhanger. Although star David Boreanaz had previously said that "No Choice in Duty" isn't the way the team wanted to end the season, the episode did leave fans with something to keep them on the edges of their seat: a surprise hookup between Jason and Mandy!
Admittedly, the hookup between Jason and Mandy is more of a surprise in that it finally happened in an episode that wasn't intended to be a finale than that it happened at all. After all, the two characters have been seemingly working their way toward a romance throughout the series, and it felt like more of a matter of "when" than "if." That said, it didn't happen under the happiest of circumstances.
Overwhelmed by his day and a very close call for Bravo Team, Jason knocked on the door of Mandy's trailer. For her part, Mandy had been on the receiving end of a widow's breakdown because of her role in his death. Mandy asked if he was okay when she opened her door, and she certainly didn't object when he swooped in for a kiss, and things were only getting more heated as the credits began to roll.
David Boreanaz chatted with TVLine about the hookup between Jason and Mandy, saying this:
Connections between people who understand each other and the difficulties they face aren't easy to find in the SEAL Team world, and the events of "No Choice in Duty" were enough to push Jason and Mandy to take a big step toward each other. Taking into account all those difficulties, however, it's hard not to wonder: do Jason and Mandy have what it takes for a real romance?
Well, viewers won't find out for the foreseeable future. SEAL Team was in the middle of work on Episode 21 when production had to shut down for the season. That said, David Boreanaz was directing the episode, and he teased what was planned for the "morning after," saying this:

Assuming SEAL Team will pick up on the plots that were left dangling in Season 3, viewers should be able to see this surprising aftermath when the show returns. Fortunately, CBS officially renewed SEAL Team for a fourth season just hours ahead of the Season 3 finale, so there's no reason to worry that the show will never reveal what happens following the big Jason/Mandy hookup.
