Outer Banks gave audiences sandy beaches, teen angst and a bit of treasure hunting but, of course, the show also provided viewers with plenty of romance. This was definitely apparent when it came to the relationship between Chase Stokes’ John B and Madelyn Cline’s Sarah. It would be an understatement to say that the two went through a lot during the season, but they ultimately pulled through it. Now, it would seem this romance has spilled outside of the TV show, as Stokes has made an announcement.
Chase Stokes took to Instagram to reveal that he and co-star Madelyn Cline are officially dating. In the sweet post, he includes photos of the two enjoying a romantic meal on the beach along with a brief caption. You can check them out for yourself down below:
With their chemistry on the small screen, some likely speculated that Stokes and Cline could be dating, so this may not come as a surprise to some. Still, Stokes’ post is a nice way to make the news official.
It’s hard to say how or when exactly Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline’s relationship began but, when filming a project, one can imagine that it would be easy for two people to become very close while working together. This is especially true for those who are playing love interests. Coincidentally, this isn’t the first time that co-stars on a teen drama have paired up in real life. Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse of Riverdale dated for a while, as did their co-stars, Camila Mendes and Charles Melton.
The first season of Outer Banks introduces Stokes and Cline’s characters as star-crossed lovers, with John B serving as the leader of the “Pogues” and Sarah being noted as the princess of the “Kooks.” Nevertheless, the two are drawn to each other and eventually start a relationship, much to the disdain of their friends. Though in time, the Pogues accept the romance.
As previously mentioned, the two do face their fair share of challenges after hooking up. The two embark on a journey to find gold from a famous wreck, all while John B tries to solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance. Along the way, John B is also framed for murder, though Sarah helps him avoid capture. By the end of the season, the two manage to survive a tropical storm after being rescued by a ship headed for the Bahamas, which is where a potential second season will pick up.
One thing that can definitely be said is that Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline look very happy together. Outer Banks’ fate has yet to be decided by Netflix but, regardless of what happens, the two will still have each other as a result of their work on the show.
