90 Day Fiance Is Starting To Show Cracks In Kenneth And Armando's Love Story, And I'm A Mess

90 Day Fiance: The Other Way TLC

Warning! The following contains spoilers for 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way's episode "Rude Awakening." Read at your own risk!

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has been rough for all couples involved save one. Kenneth Niedermeier and Armando Rubio had seemingly broken the cycle this season with a heartfelt and cute romance that came across as perfect, but it turns out that may have just been because audiences hadn't seen them together yet. Now Kenneth is in Mexico, and I'm a mess after seeing some of the small cracks that have quickly formed in their relationship.

Kenneth may have been mentally ready to make the move to Mexico, but there were a lot of things the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way participant didn't think about. He quickly realized he's incapable of traveling around without Armando thanks to his lack of fluency in Spanish. As he mentioned that will be an issue if Armando is sick, and Kenneth is left to fend for himself on a grocery trip or to a pharmacy.

Kenneth also showed the culture shock of an American moving to Mexico and was certainly a little surprised about the city he and Armando moved to. The lack of chain restaurants, signage on stores that look like houses, and "dirt" surrounding food stalls had him bothered, and he wasn't afraid to express that to Armando. Armando took it all in stride but was always quick to note the things Kenneth didn't like he enjoyed and saw no problem with.

I can only speculate, but it feels like the type of problem that would slowly build for most couples. Armando is familiar with and enjoys the culture of his country, so hearing Kenneth's constant criticisms of it could be a bit grating after a while. Of course, Kenneth may just be adapting to life in Mexico and everything is too different all at once, so it's possible the negative speak on his new life could chill over time.

Not to say Armando doesn't have to work out some things on his end though. A preview for next week's 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way showed Armando shying away from Kenneth's hand as he attempted to hold it in public. Armando is afraid of being attacked by people in Mexico for being openly gay, but Kenneth stated he just saw the lack of affection as a rejection towards him. Perhaps this is a simple misunderstanding, but yet another hurdle this couple will have to overcome in their new life.

I was a mess at first, though I should say I'm overdramatic and 90 Day Fiancé fans shouldn't be quite as worried. Recent pictures of the two seem to indicate the duo are still enjoying their lives in Mexico, and that life is good in the world of Kenneth and Armando. Hopefully, things stay that way, because I don't know what will happen if this show's last happy couple has drama like everyone else.

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs on TLC Mondays at 9:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for more on the franchise, and the latest happenings in television and movies.
