Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee's relationship has been one of the messiest of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way so far, and at this point, it even seems like Brittany Banks and Yazan Abo Horira may have a better shot at outlasting them. Things came to a head in the latest episode, in which Jihoon stormed out after Deavan said his lies about his finances "ruined her life."
Given that drama, it's not hard to imagine that their relationship isn't long for this world. Those who look at spoilers know that couldn't be further from the truth, however, and Deavan's mom, Elicia Clegg, is shutting down rumors.
It's a surprising show of support from Elicia, who has openly criticized Jihoon on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way for his life decisions. She has made it clear that she believes Jihoon should be the sole provider for the family and was not happy when she saw the state of the home the couple was originally going to live in. In this episode, Elicia was openly advocating for Deavan to return to America with her, so to see her defending the relationship may give some fans whiplash.
Keep in mind that all of what is being shown on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way was before COVID-19, so a lot of time has passed since this filming. I've covered in the past that the couple's YouTube channel has confirmed Deavan was still in South Korea at the time the country was on lockdown, so the odds seem pretty good that she won't leave the country in an upcoming episode like she's been threatening.
With that being said, there have been recent questions about Jihoon and Deavan after Instagram revealed that Deavan has been in America with both the children since mid-July. The posts may have led some to believe that Deavan and Jihoon are on the outs again, and for that reason, Deavan decided to return to America with both the kids. Elicia Clegg has clarified that in a reply to a follower in another Instagram post that featured Deavan's daughter, Drascilla. Elicia wrote:
She is visiting here, but the travel restriction have forced her to be here longer.
Deavan currently can't go to South Korea, and apparently, Jihoon did not travel to America. The reasons why Jihoon didn't travel with the family is unclear, though it could be something as simple as wishing to save money or that he had a job that he couldn't take time away from. I can only speculate on all that, but I feel pretty safe in assuming Deavan and Jihoon are fine if Elicia is willing to go to bat for them.
