TLC's Counting On has shown the extended Duggar family getting bigger than ever in Season 11 with some new babies, and rumors began to circulate that Jessa Duggar Seewald is expecting her fourth child. She gave birth to her youngest, Ivy Jane, in May 2019, and some of her 2.2 million followers on social media were curious if the next baby was on the way. Seewald finally addressed the rumors directly.
An Instagram commenter directly asked if she was expecting her fourth child because they "noticed the bump," prompting this response from Jessa Duggar Seewald on August 1:
There's no baby behind the bump--only tacos. Thanks for asking!
There we have it! Jessa Duggar Seewald is not pregnant with her fourth child. Her response was pretty classy, if you ask me! Between the "Thanks for asking" and the laugh-crying emoji she included in the post, she apparently took no offense at somebody thinking she's pregnant based on a "bump."
Interestingly, the commentary happened on a post that didn't feature Jessa Duggar Seewald at all, but her 3-year-old son Henry sporting a DIY haircut. Whatever "bump" the commenter saw, it wasn't in that particular post!
The most recent image of Jessa Duggar Seewald on either her or husband Ben Seewald's Instagram pages was posted on July 27. While I for one don't see what passed for a "bump" to the person who questioned her about it, she was wearing a loose dress that could have concealed a bun in the oven. Take a look:
Jessa Duggar married Ben Seewald in November 2014 after eleven months of engagement, and she gave birth to their first son, Spurgeon Elliot, a little over a year later. She gave birth to their second, Henry WIlberforce, in February 2017. Their third child and first daughter, Ivy Jane, was born in May 2019.
Of course, Jessa Duggar Seewald was making headlines even before the pregnancy rumors started circulating. Even though she won't be a member of the Duggar family who will start modeling swimwear, she was spotted wearing pants in a Counting On video released ahead of Season 11.
The women and girls of the Duggar family traditionally wear skirts and dresses, to the point that even physical exertions and outdoor adventures tend to involve dresses. Jessa Duggar Seewald wearing pants might have been nothing special for women on most reality TV shows, but not so for a Duggar on TLC! Seewald may have even been a trendsetter in her family.
Two Duggar daughters did make pregnancy announcements in recent months, even if Jessa Duggar Seewald wasn't one of them. Joy-Anna Duggar announced back in March 2020 that she was pregnant nine months after a miscarriage, and she shared an adorable picture preparing to welcome their "little princess."
