YouTube Star Jake Paul’s House Was Just Searched By The FBI
Over the last few months, Jake Paul has been in the news quite a bit and not so much for his YouTube antics. This morning, it was reported that a warrant was executed at Jake Paul’s home in Calabasas (also where the Kardashians famously live). The FBI was on the scene and what was described as a “small army” of individuals was searching his house.
TMZ got the scoop, taking shots of individuals dressed in SWAT and tactical gear as they waited outside of Jake Paul’s home. There were also shots captured of armored trucks. Law enforcement on the scene confirmed the YouTube star’s home was being search following the execution of a search warrant. The official statement law enforcement gave ABC News was rather vague, mentioning,
It’s unclear if Jake Paul was even at home during the event and other details remain scarce, though allegedly more than 20 people were on hand to search for whatever they were looking for on the property. However, Jake Paul has been in the news quite a bit lately. There’s that time he was flaunting social distancing rules as cases go up in the L.A. area. He openly held a large party on his private property and skipped the masks about two weeks ago.
The party ended up going viral and Mayor Alicia Weintraub expressed “outrage” and at the time seemed to be looking into options to penalize Paul noting fines and breaking up parties might become the norm if the YouTuber continued. Despite that, Jake Paul basically told Insider he was going to keep doing his own thing.
Shortly before that, he was also a part of some of the looting events that occurred in Scottsdale, Arizona. Footage caught Jake Paul at the scene and in June the YouTube star was charged with Criminal Trespass & Unlawful Assembly, though that was a misdemeanor charge. Jake Paul was one of over 20 arrests that were made in connection with looting events that followed peaceful protests occurring after the death of George Floyd. For his part, Jake Paul had denied looting himself and had said he was looking for people who had been protesting.
Clearly, the 23-year-old YouTuber is no stranger to controversy, but some of this has helped him develop a following of more than 20 million YouTube users. His older brother Logan Paul is also a YouTube star who occasionally courts controversy; however, an FBI raid does seemingly add a layer of seriousness to whatever is going on. We'll keep you updated as soon as more information related to the raid itself and why it went down is made available.
