The Real Housewives Of New York City has had some real ups and downs this season, and the downs have been brutal. Blowout fights are par for the course at this stage in the season, but I doubt anyone quite expected one of the stars to have a blowout in her dress following a vacation dinner gone awry.
The ladies went to Dorinda Medley's hotel to learn that she was miserable, potentially because she brushed her teeth with the tap water in the Mexican resort. The incident was so bad and volatile that Dorinda explained that she "shit on the floor" while reaching for her dress, and Luann De Lesseps said she could "smell it" the minute Dorinda filled her in on the situation. As this is airing on television, you can imagine The Real Housewives Of New York City fans were beside themselves trying to grasp the stinky situation.
Facts. I could not believe that every woman was crowded in that small hotel room in the midst of Dorinda Medley blowing it up, and commenting on the smell! I guess it's good content for reality television, but also, a well that The Real Housewives Of New York City has gone to before. Many were amused, but others were questioning just how many more times they'll see a real housewife poop themselves in primetime.
Others embraced the moment, and more importantly, the fact that The Real Housewives Of New York City could have a night out without Dorinda Medley. Given that Dorinda had been less than a joy to that point in the vacation, Sonya Morgan and the rest weren't all that mad about her being left out of the evening activities. Luann De Lesseps got the zing of the episode, though, with a line that may go down in the show's history.
Most people would be mortified to have their bout of diarrhea captured by cameras. But (credit where it's due), Dorinda Medley is not one of those people, and at no point even indicated that the cameras being there even bothered her in the slightest. To be fair, she's a reality television veteran at this point, but fans appreciate everything she lets them see all the same.
Hiwever, as often as this seems to happen on trips, when will The Real Housewives Of New York City crew begin to prepare for this? Fans are thinking the same, and maybe some budget should be set aside for next year to make sure no one poops on the floor in Season 13.
Live, laugh, learn, and pack an extra pair of underwear. It's just another wild episode of The Real Housewives Of New York City, and honestly, perhaps it wasn't quite as wild as the vibrator in the chicken episode. This was one of my favorites of the season all the same, and I can only hope there are a few surprises left before the season is up.
