90 Day Fiance's Paul Posts Cryptic Message On Social Media As Legal Issues Continue

Life has been hard for Paul Staehle and Karine Martins on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, but the TLC reality series only told part of the story. The couple has made many headlines as of late, primarily due to allegations of abuse they've lodged against each other. Amidst legal troubles that include restraining orders and a custody dispute, Paul has updated his social media with a cryptic message.

Paul, who had recently stated he was stepping away from social media while the court proceedings went on, has updated his Instagram bio. In place of what was there before, he now has a phrase in Portuguese which almost sounds like a prayer of sorts: Deus por favor me concede um milagre.

In English, that phrase translates to "God please grant me a miracle." At the time of the writing, it's unclear why Paul Staehle changed his profile bio (others in the franchise do that for mysterious reasons) as he did this without an official announcement or any major brouhaha. It's also curious that this would be written in Portuguese, considering Paul is from Kentucky and it's not his native language.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? has seen the two communicating with the use of a phone translator, so it doesn't seem like this is a phrase Paul would just know off-hand to post. Is it possible he's hoping Karine sees the message, perhaps in an attempt to end this drama outside of court? Popular speculation, of course, is that the message itself is Paul Staehle's response to his recent situation. He currently has a restraining order from wife Karine Martins, and a court date has been set to determine custody for their infant son Pierre. Paul faces some pretty shocking allegations of sexual assault amid other claims by Karine Martins, but he has also countered with allegations she put glass in his food.

Both parties have been granted a restraining order against each other, so direct communication is likely off the table. It's also not out of character for Paul to air out the details of this case over social media, and much of what is known about the proceedings has come from his posts of documents. Paul is also no stranger to cryptic messages, as he posted a photo of a one-way ticket to Brazil a couple of weeks ago.

It's worth mentioning that Paul Staehle's criminal history does include an instance in which he was accused of violating a restraining order with a past ex. Vague status updates may not affect the conditions of that order, but with restraining orders in effect for both parties, it stands to reason we shouldn't see too many outright attempts to get Karine Martins' attention on social media.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for more on the franchise, and for the latest happening in television and movies.
