No Big Deal, Just Hallmark’s Pascale Hutton And Kavan Smith Reuniting On When Calls The Heart Set
Hallmark is known for often pairing up leads with chemistry over and over again. Among those leads are When Calls The Heart’s Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith. Both have starred in several Hallmark movies together as well, and as Hallmark movies and TV productions ramp back up with new safety protocols, the TV couple have reunited.
When Calls The Heart actually returned to the set a few weeks ago. Various members of the staff said they were "grateful" for new protocols enabling them to get back to work and even shared some photos of mask-wearing while prepping to film. Now that the quarantine period is over and filming has commenced, Pascale Hutton shared a fun photo of her character Rosemary and Kavan Smith’s Leland reuniting to film.
When Calls The Heart is heading into Season 8 and over time Rosemary and Leland have become more and more important on the show. This has likely happened at least partially due to Lori Loughlin’s exit, but also because people just seem to be pretty enamored with their onscreen pairing.
In fact, fans enjoy the pairing of Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith so much, it’s no huge surprise there’s a frequently Googled question about whether or not the two are married in real life. Seriously, type in “Are Pascale Hutton” and the first autofill should go to “Are Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith married?” In fact, though, it’s all TV magic.
Pascale Hutton is married and has been married for a while; however, her partner is Danny Dorosh, whom she reportedly married back in 2002. They have two kids together, though most of her Instagram posts are focused on her Hallmark family. Kavan Smith is even more private with his private life, mostly limiting his family posts to food-related items, but is reportedly married to Corinne Clark, a casting director from the actor’s time on Stargate: Atlantis.
Both, however, are good pals in real life and Kavan Smith has even been supportive of his “pal” Pascale Hutton when she’s starred with other Hallmark male leads on a project. So, yeah, their working relationship is legitimately adorable.
At the end of the day, I’m just happy to see When Calls The Heart getting back to work as the show does still have a love triangle and more to work out! Hallmark has other TV shows with loyal fanbases, but hearties are probably the most intense and dedicated fanbase the network has. The fact that the network has found a way to go back into production to give fans new content this fall has been impressive (though it likely helps that a lot of the productions were already Canadian based). For more on how the network is rolling out new safety procedures, we have you covered as well.
