90 Day Fiance's Paul Staehle Is In Brazil For An Unexpected Reason

Paul 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? TLC

Warning! The following contains spoilers for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Read at your own risk!

As things slowly fall apart for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? couple Paul Staehle and Karine Martins on the show, the storyline has been a bit hard to watch. After all, the couple's more recent actions tend to make headlines. The two are not currently together following Karine obtaining a restraining order against Paul, which contained some pretty shocking allegations.

Paul Staehle has filed his own restraining order against Karine Martins with some equally shocking material and has posted cryptic messages to followers on Instagram. This included a picture of a plane ticket to Brazil, which caused some to believe Paul may be offering Karine a free flight out of the country to avoid any legal trouble. It turns out the reason wasn't quite that, and Paul explained his trip and the latest on the situation in a lengthy Instagram Story post which has since expired. It read:

For everyone thinking I am chasing Karine in Brazil. Karine is in Indiana USA. I came here alone to clean and organize our Brazil home. It needs to be sanitary and baby safe. I have been keeping busy since she left. I finished cleaning and organizing USA house so now I am doing the same in Brazil. All my work is on the internet so as long as I have internet I can be anywhere. Even court is on the internet these days. My life revolved around them. I have not seen my son since July. Next court date is now in December. I will not see my sons for a very long time. So I am keeping busy and constructive. Karine is not in Brazil. I knew that when I traveled here. Now my mother is having a mental breakdown because she is also forbidden to see Pierre. I have lost my sons. I just want to stay busy and productive. I have to accept the fact that I will probably never see my wife or son again. Or see the birth of my unborn child. That said I think I am mentally doing what is best staying constructive and busy.

Paul Staehle has assured that he has the ability to attend his court dates while abroad, and that he has not done this in an effort to track down Karine Martins. With that said, the trip does seem like a weird move for Paul, who suggested the court hearings may result in him never seeing his wife or children again. Paul has teased the existence of an unborn child for a while now, and once again breadcrumbs were dropped in this update.

It should be said that Paul Staehle has not necessarily been known for his work ethic and motivation in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, and that those two things have been a major source of tension between him and Karine Martins this season. Paul promised Karine that he'd be able to find work and get them a better life in America, but so far, he's jobless and the couple has trash bags for curtains in their trailer.

Karine Martins has stayed silent since her one update following Paul Staehle telling followers she was "missing" and that he couldn't find her. The couple's odds of reconciling seem low after Karine accused Paul of rape, physical abuse, and withholding her documents for travel in her emergency protective order, and Paul alleged she had tried to kill him with glass in his food. The couple is still featured on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, and some have wondered if TLC will follow them for another season if these events continue.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs on TLC Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for more on the franchise, and for the latest happening in television and movies.
