This Is Us Stars Celebrated The Big Three's 40th Birthday With All The Cakes
This Is Us stands as one of the relatively few major network dramas that actually managed to finish the 2019-2020 TV season without being cut short, but it won't be back until a couple months later than usual. Even though the hit NBC drama is missing its normal September premiere, the stars who play the Pearson trio of kids came out to celebrate The Big Three's 40th birthday on August 31 with all the cakes, and not just the adult actors.
Take a look at the various actors playing Kate, Kevin, and Randall Pearson celebrating The Big Three hitting the big 4-0!
Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, and Sterling K. Brown weren't the only This Is Us stars who came out to celebrate The Big Three's birthday on Twitter! The actors who play the teen and young versions of Kate, Kevin, and Randall had their cakes and candles ready to celebrate as well. Metz fittingly opened the video with a performance of "Happy Birthday," with more stars chiming in with their own versions. Sterling K. Brown's real-life kids were on hand to help celebrate (and blow out the candle), while Justin Hartley shared that his birthday wish for The Big Three is for Kevin and Randall to figure out their differences.
As for the younger actors, I have to give credit to Mackenzie Hancsicsak for dressing for the occasion. How perfect for the Teen Kate actress to wear an "AWESOME SINCE AUGUST 31 1980" shirt in honor of the Pearson kids' birthday? And Hannah Zeile was all smiles! I definitely got a laugh out of Young Kevin actor Parker Bates commenting on how old The Big Three were at 40, with Teen Kevin actor Logan Shroyer commenting on how impressive turning 40 is, considering The Big Three are TV characters! Teen Randall actor Niles Fitch looked more than ready to munch on his cake, and I can't say I blame him.
Unfortunately, none of the actors playing The Big Three throughout the years will be returning to the small screen as their characters any time too soon. The first four seasons all premiered in September, but the production delays mean that This Is Us won't be back for Season 5 until November. There is some good news, however. This Is Us is returning with a big two-hour premiere event on Tuesday, November 10 on NBC. This Is Us fans also aren't alone in having to wait for NBC favorites to return. All three One Chicago series, Law & Order: SVU, and The Blacklist aren't going to be back until November as well.
None of this is to say that primetime will be empty between now and November. NBC has imported a Canadian medical drama for Tuesday nights this fall, and our 2020 fall TV premiere schedule can help you find more viewing options during the wait for This Is Us. The show is also in the running for the 2020 Emmys, with Sterling K. Brown nominated as Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Phylicia Rashad nominated as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
