Bindi Irwin Remembers Dad Steve Irwin On 14th Anniversary Of His Death With Touching Message
Steve Irwin (a.k.a. The Crocodile Hunter) was a giant when it came to nature-centric programming and, years after his tragic passing, many still remember his entertaining and informative exploits. Most can probably recall the moment they heard he had died at the age of 44 after being stung in the chest by a stingray. We’ve now come up on the 14th anniversary of his passing, and his daughter, Bindi, has marked the occasion with a very sweet post.
On the anniversary of Steve Irwin’s death, 22-year-old Bindi Irwin posted a vintage photo of her spending time with her famous father. In the sweet Instagram image, the father and daughter are seen enjoying a day at the beach, and she also included the caption, “You’re always in my heart.” You can check out Irwin’s post down below:
The post, which was also shared by Bindi Irwin’s younger brother Robert, was a beautiful way to pay tribute to her late father. It’s definitely clear that the two shared a unique bond, and the photo truly captures that.
Bindi Irwin, who is currently expecting her first child, has always upheld her father’s legacy and never hesitates to reflect on her time with him. She even paid tribute to him during her time as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.
Bindi Irwin wasn’t the only member of her family to celebrate her dad on the anniversary of his death, as her mother, Terri, also took to Twitter to post a sweet and loved-filled message:
Aside from the fan-favorite show The Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin’s entertainment career consisted of various TV specials along with a spinoff of his famous show entitled The Crocodile Hunter Diaries. He and wife Terri also headlined the film The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course, and he had small roles in films like Dr. Dolittle 2 and Happy Feet.
In the years following Steve Irwin’s passing, his family has been proactive in continuing his work. Terri Irwin still owns Australia Zoo, the animal park that her husband helped make a massive tourist spot, and her two kids assist in running it. Their efforts are the subject of their Animal Planet reality show, Crikey! It’s the Irwins. Additionally, they’re also continuing Irwin’s conservation efforts through Wildlife Warriors, an organization that was originally founded by Steve Irwin as the Steve Irwin Conservation Foundation.
