If there's one thing I can say about Disney+, it's that it always has something to watch. Whatever you're in the mood for, from classic Disney movies to modern blockbusters, from old Mickey Mouse cartoons to new...Mickey Mouse cartoons. Whereas I often spend time surfing through other streaming services looking for something I want to watch, with Disney+ my problem is usually deciding which thing I want to watch most, and October isn't going to change that. There's a lot to enjoy with the new month. There's something for everybody, though perhaps not a lot for any one sort of viewer.
There's a lot of great stuff coming to Disney+ in October 2020. The biggest item comes at the end of the month when the long-awaited second season of The Mandalorian begins, but there's a lot to keep you busy until then. X2, the movie widely considered to be the best of the original Fox/X-Men trilogy will be arriving on Disney + in early October, marking the fifth movie in the franchise to arrive on the service. We'll also see The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader hit on the same day, completing that Disney trilogy.
We'll also see original Disney+ series arrive including the first two episodes of the new Nat Geo series The Right Stuff, which will see two episodes drop on Day 1, and new episodes of Magic of Disney's Animal Kingdom, both of which will continue through October. The back half of October is, it has to be said, a little light on the library content. If you're a big fan of National Geographic documentaries, then you are as usual well covered, including the brand new Meet the Chimps narrated by Jane Lynch. But, unless you're really curious to find out if the Nicolas Cage-led The Sorcerer's Apprentice has aged well -- and I'm not going to lie, I sort of am -- then there isn't a lot here to get too excited about.
We will see some pretty cool original DIsney+ content, however, in the original movie Clouds, as well as Once Upon a Snowman, a new animated short that will fill in a gap in the history of Frozen's Olaf the Snowman, explaining what happened to him in the period in between his creation by Elsa and his crossing paths with Anna and Kristoff in the original film. It's not exactly Frozen III but for fans of the franchise, and there are certainly a lot of those, this short will probably be incredibly popular.
And then, of course, there's Season 2 of The Mandalorian. The series that launched Disney+ will see its first new episode arrive less than two weeks before the one year anniversary of the service. Disney is revealing nothing about the first episode, not even the title, so we'll have to wait and see just what happens.

One certainly hopes that Disney+ is planning some big stuff for its one year anniversary in November. Certainly, if nothing else they'll be more Mandalorian to enjoy. And we're expecting the first Marvel series to hit Disney+, Wandavision, before the end of the year, and so the clock is ticking for that one.
