Last week, Kris Jenner got hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit from a former bodyguard who alleged he had been forced to deal with “unwanted sexual advances” from the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star. Now, through a statement from her lawyer, Marty Singer, Kris Jenner has responded to the lawsuit and its allegations.
First and foremost, to understand the comment, you need to know that Kourtney Kardashian is named in the suit alongside her mother Kris Jenner. The former bodyguard, Marc McWilliams, worked for both Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian starting in 2017. He worked for both women for a while, but says he was taken off of Jenner’s team after complaining about unwanted advances.
He is also suing David Shield Security, Armor Protection Services Inc. for a “hostile work environment” and “racial discrimination.” However, from Kris Jenner and her team’s point of view Marc McWilliams was let go after dealing with significant on-the-job issues. Per Mary Singer, the lawsuit is "frivolous" and it doesn't clearly explain the Kardashian clan's side.
The security company stopped assigning McWilliams to work there after the guard was repeatedly caught sleeping in his car on the job. Significantly, McWilliams never made any complaints to his employer about Kris until contriving this ludicrous claim a year later. Although Kourtney is named in the suit, she is not accused of doing anything improper, nor did she do so. When Kris and Kourtney defeat this frivolous lawsuit, they intend to immediately sue McWilliams and his attorneys for malicious prosecution.
This comment to Page Six is similar to some of the comments that Kris Jenner’s legal team made about the lawsuit after news about the sexual harassment lawsuit broke. Both Kris Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian “vehemently deny” any wrongdoing in the matter. As the above quote notes, the team feels it’s unclear why Kourtney Kardashian is being named in the lawsuit when the allegations aren’t related to her outside her also employing the same bodyguard.
For herself, Kris Jenner has not touched base about the lawsuit outside of the official channel that is her lawyer. Instead, she’s been placing her focus in recent days on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, a show that is near and dear to her heart and that helped put her family on the map as celebrities when it premiered more than 10 years ago. The E! series will be ending after the current season as other drama within the family, including with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's marriage, has been more of a focal point in recent months.
Meanwhile Kourtney Kardashian already quit Keeping Up with the Kardashians back in March. She’s been busy doing other things as part of her career as a celebrity, like talking about what tea she likes while wearing silky pajamas.
Lawsuits often take a while to play out and many times they settle or quietly go away before they reach any sort of public conclusion.
