Big Brother All-Stars may have lost the element of surprise in Season 22, but it hasn't run out of heart. Things once again took a rather serious turn in an episode when a houseguest started pouring their heart out on camera about their life and giving audiences a better idea of the people they are and where they come from. This time it was Tyler Crispen opening up, and revealing the connection he has to the game via his late father.

As Big Brother Season 20 viewers may remember, the 25-year-old Tyler Crispen lost his father when he was 17. The two were very close, and as we learned in this episode, Tyler's father was a major factor as to why we see him on the show today. Tyler said:

My father was a fan of this show and it drove me to want to be on this show and want to do so well. Little did I know it would change everything. This is a connection I have with my dad even though he’s not here anymore. I owe it to him, I owe it to Angela, and I owe it to myself to do anything I can possibly do to stay in this house and get that win that I have wanted so bad.

The emotional diary room session came from Tyler Crispen's conversation with Memphis Garrett about their fathers. Through that conversation, Tyler remembered his father watching the show, and that eventually led to him watching the show as well. It's a well-known fact that Tyler is a Big Brother superfan, but the knowledge that it all started with his father may be new to many.

Because of his father's fandom, Tyler later auditioned for the show and met his current girlfriend Angela Rummans. The two of them have been together since his first run on Big Brother Season 20, and have started a business and have a sizable social media following on different platforms. The show has changed Tyler Crispen's life immensely, and his statement seems to show he believes a lot of that goes back to learning about the show from his father.

Tyler Crispen's love for the game is admirable, but unfortunately, it's not looking like that will result in a win. His run on Big Brother All-Stars appears to be coming to an end, barring some small miracle ahead of the eviction vote on Thursday. It's not impossible for Tyler to stay in the game, but unlikely that he'll survive given what we've seen in the past couple of days. That said, he did crazier things in Season 20, so we can only wait and see what happens!

Big Brother All-Stars airs on CBS Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for all the latest happening in the series, and for more news in television and movies.
