Sofia Vergara garnered the internet's attention this weekend when she posted some brand new vintage looks at herself in a bikini whilst basking in sunlight and ocean air. Well, half a bikini at least. She shared some topless photos from the nineties with her fans, photos that have already received well over 700,000 likes on social media. They may have been throwback photos, but as a whole Sofia Vergara’s take on her age and getting older in Hollywood has been pretty refreshing.
Amusingly, Sofia Vergara captioned her Instagram post with a “TBT to last weekend” caption, though she was joking about the timeline for when the photos were taken. The topless photos actually come from a shoot in the nineties when the Colombian-American actress was still modeling, before she made a name for herself on programs including ABC's Modern Family.
Now, 48, the Modern Family actress has been open about the effects of aging and the changes that come with it in recent years. She previously told Women’s Health that perfection is something she doesn’t strive for anymore, instead choosing to treat her “naked body” with kindness, but still keeping her health in mind.
Even if you want to, at this time in your life, you can’t be perfect. It’s not that you hate it, or that you’re upset about it, but it is our reality. We’re changing. I see it happening to me. I want to look my age, but I want to look great. I think if you are obsessed with this ‘I want to look younger’ thing, you’re going to go crazy.
Sofia Vergara may not be wearing quite so teeny tiny bikinis these days, but she sure does still know how to rock a swimsuit. Just a few weeks ago, she shared this artsy look in swimwear and I’m pretty sure it’s #lifegoals for most of us to still be able to rock out a suit like that at 48.
This isn’t the first time Sofia Vergara has posted a throwback photo to her earlier modeling days. More looks from beaches around the world have been sprinkled throughout her social media feed in recent months, and seem to be popular with her fanbase, as well.
Meanwhile, the actress also frequently shares moments from her personal life, as well as her more recent work on America’s Got Talent, in which she has appeared opposite Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Terry Crews and more. The actress touched on joining the reality series as her Modern Family follow-up recently, but it's nice to see she's still active on social media these days as well.
