90 Day Fiance's Yazan And Brittany Situation Finally Makes A Lot More Sense After Latest Update

Yazan Abo Horira 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way TLC

Warning! The following contains spoilers for the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode "The Consequences Of Truth." Read at your own risk!

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has its fair share of odd couples, but Season 2's Brittany Banks and Yazan Abo Horira surely take the cake. The two are bound and determined not to let opposing cultures stop their true love, but at the same time are unwilling to give up their separate cultures for one another. We've seen and heard a lot about what happened from Brittany's perspective, but until this recent episode, viewers hadn't heard much about what was happening with Yazan.

The latest episode delivered some big updates on Yazan's struggles, which included losing his job, living on the streets, and being ostracized by his family for his relationship with Brittany. Suffice to say, things haven't been going well for Yazan at all, but his commitment to his relationship with Brittany is so strong, he's holding his ground and hoping it'll all be worthwhile in the end.

To this point, 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way had shown Yazan Abo Horira telling Brittany Banks one thing while giving his parents a different explanation, but this latest update gave some context to his deception. Yazan is well aware of the person that Brittany is and the life she lives, as well as the fact that his parents don't approve of her at all. He loves his parents, and also clearly loves Brittany enough to endure time on the streets to be with her, so this attempt to influence her to join Islam and his Jordanian way of life has been an effort to keep everyone he loves together.

It doesn't necessarily excuse some of the gaslighting Brittany Banks alleged Yazan Abo Horira was responsible for during their relationship, but it does show that he cares for her more than I even believed he did during the first half of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Yazan now showing his intention to fight for Brittany is a far cry from previous comments where he claimed she was wasting his time if she wasn't willing to change her life to his liking.

Unfortunately for Yazan, the issues with Brittany are a lot deeper than just the cultural divide. He's apparently living on the streets while still unaware of the fact that she has yet to divorce from her first marriage. This means even in the ideal scenario where things work out between them – though I'm assuming they don't based on their present-day social media posts – there's no way they'd get married according to the timeline Yazan is wanting. I've made it clear in past articles that their potential split is probably for the best, though it is legitimately sad to see these two suffering and trying to make a very difficult situation work at great expense to both their lives. What does everyone else think?

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs on TLC Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET. Continue to stick with CinemaBlend for all the latest news happening in the franchise, as well as television and movies.
