Check Out The Best Mandalorian Fan Art Yet For Rosario Dawson As Ahsoka Tano
The Mandalorian is back with new episodes on Disney+, and the Season 2 premiere even seemingly confirmed one of the biggest rumors that has been circulating for months. Fans are still waiting to find out for sure if Rosario Dawson will indeed make her heavily rumored debut as Ahsoka Tano, but one artist hasn't waited for Dawson to appear in front of the camera to imagine what she could look like as the fan-favorite former Jedi.
Ahsoka is a Togruta rather than a human, which made it easy to rule her out of appearing in any of the trailers that released ahead of Season 2's premiere. It also makes art of Rosario Dawson as the character all the more impressive, especially when there's as much attention to detail as artist Raf Grassetti included. Take a look!
This fan art delivers so minute of details that this is clearly both Rosario Dawson and a character who has heretofore only appeared via animation, and I'm not sure The Mandalorian could do a better job in bringing Ahsoka to live-action! Interestingly, the artist didn't just take the version of Ahsoka who appeared in The Clone Wars or in Star Wars Rebels and add dimension to her. There are changes to her outfit and lightsabers, and those kinds of changes make sense for Ahsoka circa The Mandalorian.
That's not to say that Rosario Dawson will look exactly like this fan art if and when she does make her Mandalorian debut, but I think fans should expect a different Ahsoka than they've seen before, and not just because of the shift from animation to live-action. The Mandalorian is set several years after the events of the original trilogy, and therefore after the end of Star Wars Rebels' epilogue, in which Ahsoka was sporting a long white robe and hood with a staff in her hand.
I doubt the space western that is The Mandalorian will feature an Ahsoka who shows up looking like a wizard, and depending on how Ahsoka's mission at the end of Rebels went, it would make sense if she was back in more combat-ready duds. All things considered, I for one would be very happy if Ahsoka turned up looking like she does in Raf Grassetti's art rather than a long robe.
Spoilers ahead for the Season 2 premiere of The Mandalorian on Disney+. While neither Disney nor anybody at The Mandalorian has confirmed that Rosario Dawson will appear in Season 2 as Ahsoka Tano, the appearance of a guy who looks an awful lot like Boba Fett in the same episode that saw the return of Boba Fett's armor, all on Tatooine, proves that at least some of the pre-Season 2 rumors were correct.
I would be surprised if Ahsoka doesn't have at least a brief appearance, not least because it opens the world of The Mandalorian up to more stories from the galaxy far, far away. Still, only time will tell, and we can always enjoy the epic fan art until we get to see Rosario Dawson as a Togruta down the line. End Season 2 premiere spoilers.
