Netflix's Captain Underpants Totally Kills Christmas In Wild New Holiday Special Trailer
Beyond the four official seasons under its diaper-belt – including the most recent trip to space – Netflix's wacky animated series The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants has also been pretty awesome about given fans standalone specials, first with "The Heartbreaking Havoc of the Haunting Hack-A-Ween" and then with the interactive special "The Interactive Insanity of the Irritating Interlopers." Now, streaming audiences can look forward to another holiday special from George, Harold, Mr. Krupp and all of Dav Pilkey's other characters, and you can get your very first extended look at the Mega Blissmas special with the trailer above!
That's right, the kids from Jerome Horwitz Elementary School are gearing up for an adventure like no other, during which they will somehow go back in time and rid the world of Christmas forever – possibly – while also taking on a giant robot Santa Claus who just so happens to look like Hulk Hogan – definitely. Check out the official synopsis for the Mega Blissmas special below:
Most people who love things dearly don't influence mythical entities in order to alter the past, but then George and Harold definitely don't qualify as "most people." Who else could replace traditional yuletide cheer with laser lights and flaming stage shows?
And who else could put together a holiday caravan of elementary school children who travel by the backs of gorillas?
And who else could... Oh, you get the point. The answer is always going to be George and Harold. Remember that now.
The above trailer makes the Captain Underpants: Mega Blissmas special look like it'll be just as fun and action-packed and groan-worthy as everything fans have gotten used to from this creative team. As much as I hate to side with Melvin on anything, I think my favorite part is his Santa-bot being called Mech The Halls 2000. That's just good pun-manship.
The Captain Underpants: Mega Blissmas special will debut on Netflix on Friday, December 4, at 3:01 a.m. ET, but you can stream all four seasons and the two one-off specials right now.
