Logan Paul's Fight With Floyd Mayweather Is Getting Some Wild Reactions On Twitter

Logan Paul and Floyd Mayweather

If there’s one thing the viewing public enjoys, it’s seeing celebrities head into the ring with skilled athletes. Most recently, fight fans witnessed YouTube star Jake Paul go toe to toe with NBA vet Nate Robinson, which ended with Robinson losing by knockout in the second round. Meanwhile, Paul’s brother and fellow YouTuber, Logan Paul, has been working to set up a fight of his own, and it’s finally set. Paul will be facing none other than Floyd Mayweather, who is coming out of retirement to face the internet personality in an exhibition match. The new is definitely on-brand for 2020 and, as such, people across the internet have had plenty of wild reactions to it.

The fight, which Floyd Mayweather posted about on Twitter, definitely seems to be piquing the interest of fans around the web. Based on the bulk of the reactions that have been posted so far, it would appear that most are predicting Mayweather to come out victorious against Logan Paul. The veteran boxer is undefeated after all, with a total of 50 wins under his belt. So you can imagine some are a bit skeptical of Paul’s abilities:

This won’t be Paul’s first rodeo, however, as he previously fought YouTube star Olajide Olatunji a.k.a. KSI in 2018, which ended in a majority tie. KSI wasn’t a slouch by any means, but many think Paul is making a major leap by jumping to Mayweather. Still, that won’t stop audiences from tuning in:

Despite some of the rare optimism regarding Paul’s chances, it wouldn’t be wrong to say that he’s in for a serious challenge. And people are giving pretty honest responses when giving their thoughts on his potential performance:

Once again, it can’t be stressed just how unusual this pairing is, and it certainly falls in line with many of the other wild headlines we’ve seen in 2020. With this in mind, internet personality Coy Jandreau couldn’t help but make an A+ comparison when discussing the fight:

Logan Paul may stand at 6’2”, but the 5’8” Floyd Mayweather is undefeated for a reason. What he lacks in height can be made up through his defensive boxing skills.

One thing that can certainly be said is that the fight stands to bring in a lot of revenue. The popularity of the two fighters paired with the growing interest in these kinds of exhibition matches could bode well for the event.

There’s no guarantee that Logan Paul will lose to Floyd Mayweather when they enter the ring, as anyone can win on any given night. Still, he might want to prepare himself, as the 43-year-old Mayweather is likely to bring his best when they finally meet.

The PPV Mayweather vs. Logan Paul fight is set to take place on February 20, 2021.
