Apparently Gwen Stefani Only Got Her Marriage To Gavin Rossdale Annulled After She Got Engaged To Blake Shelton
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have become one of Hollywood's "it" couples, thanks in large part to their frequent appearing as coaches on NBC's hit singing competition, The Voice. The two both come from prior marriages and have been divorced from their former lovers for quite some time. With that being said, it's now being reported that Stefani was recently still married in the eyes of the Catholic church and hadn't gotten an official annulment from ex Gavin Rossdale until after she got engaged.
Now, it's being reported by Us Weekly that the Vatican has approved Gwen Stefani's annulment. It'll still take a few weeks for her to get an official document, but the news now means that Gwen Stefani will now be allowed to be wed within the Catholic church once again. It's the end of a process that apparently started back in March of 2019, nearly four years after Stefani and singer Gavin Rossdale filed for divorce.
With the annulment officially approved, it's assumed that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will have a Catholic ceremony. It's reported Stefani's faith is important to her and that it had been her wish from the beginning to get married to Shelton in the church. Shelton has identified as a Christian in past interviews and has released spiritual country songs throughout his long career.
It's worth mentioning that Gwen Stefani's first marriage in the Catholic church was unconventional, as the singer had two separate ceremonies. According to an interview with the pastor who first married her, Stefani was first married to Gavin Rossdale in the Anglican church. Following that, there was then a separate Catholic ceremony approved by the church. Friar Drennen, who conducted the ceremony, said the original affair was supposed to be just friends and family, but it ended up being quite a large event as word spread.
As far as where Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will tie the knot, it's said that Shelton has been hard at work on that part. He's reportedly building a chapel on his Oklahoma ranch for the two to wed, which may be about as easy of a way to keep prying eyes or wedding crashers from arriving on the grounds.
Plus, it would be cool to see the spot you were married every day on your property unless, of course, things don't work out. For now, though, it seems things with Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are going well, so let's wish the two the best and hope Gwen beating Blake on the latest season of The Voice hasn't affected their relationship too much.
