After Those Kanye West Rumors, Now Jeffree Star Claims Rappers Are Sliding Into His DMs
There’s never a dull moment to be had when it comes to social media but, lately, it feels like things have been even more “lively” than usual. What was arguably one of the wildest social media stories of the last week was a rumor involving Kanye West and YouTube beauty guru Jeffree Star. Although Star himself has since shut down the claim, he says it’s having an unusual side effect, as rappers are now apparently sliding into his DMs.
For those who need to be brought up to speed, divorce rumors have been surrounding Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for some time now, with reports indicating that the two are splitting due to shifting priorities. Shortly after these reports dropped, TikToker Ava Louise took to the social media platform and claimed that the divorce was partially due to West sleeping with Jeffree Star a while ago. Neither West nor Kardashian publicly commented on the matter, but Star -- who was both shocked and amused by the claim -- shot it down in a recent video.
Since speaking out against the claims, Jeffree Star has been relatively silent on the matter, but he’s now claiming on Twitter that his connection to the claim is getting him a bit of attention from rappers:
The initial TikTok rumor must have been weird enough for Jeffree Star, but he probably never expected to be garnering this kind of attention from the hip-hop community. It’s an interesting turn of events, to say the least.
It should be mentioned that there is a chance that Star is also joking. Before he officially confirmed that the Kanye West rumors were untrue, he sparked some internet buzz by posting a photo of himself with the caption, “I’m ready for Sunday Service.” So this could be another playful social media joke, but it’s still not impossible that he’s telling the truth.
In regard to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, they haven’t spoken up about any of the rumors surrounding them. And believe it or not, the Jeffree Star situation isn’t the only TikTok-related rumor to hit the couple. Another influencer recently claimed that West’s former bodyguard set up a meeting between him and West. The bodyguard has since denied the claims and even had his lawyer send the TikToker a cease-and-desist letter. The user later posted a video to Twitter, in which he apologized only to West and Kardashian.
Social media certainly is an unpredictable place, especially when you venture into the Hollywood corner of it. While Jeffree Star can apparently find some humor in the situation, there’s a chance he may seriously be ready to move on from it and get on with the new year.
